POSITION SUMMARY
 

The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for overall cleanliness of the Stamford Marriott Hotel and Spa in accordance with the brand standards, health and safety standards. Responsible for planning, organizing and developing of the overall operation of the Housekeeping and Laundry Department.  Ensure highest degree of quality guest care is maintained at all times. Responsible for staffing, scheduling, training and developing the team. 

 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

As Executive Houskeeper you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards of Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa.

 

·       Ensure compliance with hotel brand standards, maintaining Housekeeping department standards covering all guestrooms of the hotel, public areas, all restrooms, banquet, meeting and conference rooms, Food & Beverage restaurants, hotel lobby including hotel entrance area in accordance with the local and company health, sanitation and safety standards.

 

·    Lead, direct, and administer Housekeeping and Laundry operation 7 days of the week, use of Marriott operating system, budgeting and forecasting, inventory control, implementation and enforcement of standard operating procedures.

 

·    Monitor and develop associate performance providing supervision and professional development, conducting performance evaluation and delivering recognition and rewards where applicable.

Follow safety and security guidelines to ensure safe work practices to protect health and wellbeing of all associates.

 

·    Monitors daily time and attendance of associates to prevent any mistakes with payroll and to avoid any unnecessary cost.

 

·    Responsible for Marriott hotels service metrics related to overall guestroom cleanliness, Housekeeping and Laundry quality of service and total guest experience.

 

·    Reports any unsafe work conditions, room and public area maintenance issue to Director of Engineering and Director of Operations.

 

·    Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, providing complete training for associates.  Ensure correct labeling hazardous supplies in accordance with federal state and local regulations.

 

·    Effectively communicate with Housekeeping associates, hotel departments to ensure timely response and completion of guest needs and associate needs.

 

·    Ensure that the room inspection program is consistently maintained and rooms released for guest occupancy with no defects.

Performs any other duties requested by the hotel management.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

·       3 years experience as Executive Housekeeper  in a full-service hotel is required.

 

·    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

·    High School diploma or Hospitality degree certificate required.

 

·    Prior experience in full-service hotel in a similar position preferred.

 

 

Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; and complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all associates and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of all. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards of Stamford Marriott.  Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less thanor equal to 50 pounds.
