DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES:

  • To create/produce beautiful quality MDJ jewelry
  • Select, sort and cut black coral/gem stones as needed for production
  • Keep coral room clean and organized at all times
  • Communicate coral room needs and issues to the Production Manager
  • Waste Water Testing (every payday Friday)
  • Charging media used in tumbling weekly or as needed
  • Quarterly preventive maintenance of tumbling machines
  • Quarterly maintenance of laser machines (Assembly and Design)
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on manufacturing equipment
  • Flex to other departments as needed for cross-training based on the Manufacturing Skills Matrix
  • Work within assigned deadlines/due dates and team goals
  • Promote a healthy, safe and positive work environment.
  • Keep supplies on hand, order new supplies in a timely manner so we never run out
  • Perform other duties and special projects requested by top management and/or Production Manager

 

BACKUP CASTER:

  • Invest and cast items necessary for production
  • Must do the premix and remelt of metals on a timely manner
  • Insure that weights of metal received from Coordinating should tally on the report and must turn over the same weight on “casted tree form” per rules on metal recovery
  • Map out and load flasks in the ovens before end of day
  • Maintain cleanliness in the investment and casting rooms
  • Perform consistent observation to best practices and techniques used by each person in your areas of responsibility. Conduct constant corrective training when best practices are not used
  • Review casting repairs and report all repeated issues to Management
  • Special projects will be assigned as needed.

 

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Highly motivated team player
  • Multi-task, critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions in oral, written or diagram form
  • Good close vision and depth perception
  • Ability to work in environment with moderate noise level
  • Ability to lift up to 30-50 pounds
  • Must be able to follow safety rules and procedures and perform work in a safe manner
  • Must have steady hands with good eye to hand coordination
  • Must show initiative, drive and flexibility
  • Computer skills is a plus

 

 

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Hand eye dexterity, attendtion to detail, steady hands, vision.
  • Stand for long periods
  • Higher than normal heat environment
