Professor Pandurangan Vijayanand’s laboratory at the La Jolla Institute for Immunology (LJI) in San Diego is seeking a number of highly motivated postdoctoral researchers for positions in cancer immunology. The Vijayanand lab employs genomic tools, genetics and computational approaches to understand the immunological basis of human diseases. Dr. Vijayanand’s lab employs genomics tools to understand, diagnose and treat pulmonary disease such as asthma, lung cancer and infectious diseases, including the novel coronavirus.


Qualified Candidates should have:

·       Ph.D., or equivalent experience in immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry, cancer biology or a related field

·       Strong scientific productivity, demonstrated through high-quality research published in peer reviewed journals

·       Skills for internal and collaborative projects

·       A strong sense of curiosity and willingness to explore


Strong applicants will have knowledge or skills in one or more of the following areas:

·       In vivo mouse models

·       Mouse handling skills: Surgical procedures (Intraperitoneal, subcutaneous, retroorbital).

·       Cell culture (various cancer cell lines) and primary cell culture

·       Multi-color flow cytometry (FACS) and cell sorting

·       RNA-sequencing
