SUMMARY
Accountable for leading a group of Project Management and Scrum-master staff that are responsible for significant, corporate-wide portfolio of projects. Coordinate efforts and perform activities to ensure effective and efficient project execution.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
·Provide leadership, training and oversight of management and staff
·Develop, understand, communicate and attain Landstar objectives
·Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
·Champion business and IT process change throughout the organization
·Provide leadership, and direct teams in the delivery of high-quality services within committed time frames
·Advise leadership, customers, and staff on strategic solutions to dealing with barriers within a project
·Communicates with all levels of the organization - including leading Steering Committee Meetings and Executive Leadership Sessions
·Work internally with IT management and recruiting for the staffing of assigned projects
·Acts as a Mentor both formal and informal to other PMs and Scrum-masters across the Enterprise
·Represent and develop relationships with vendors and relevant organizations external to Landstar
·Other duties as assigned

·Ability to read, interpret and understand contract language
·Ability to maintain confidentiality while conducting work

·Working knowledge of financial statements and budget preparation and management
·High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy
·Proven leadership ability including effective knowledge sharing, conflict resolution, facilitation of open discussions, fairness and displaying appropriate levels of assertiveness
·Professional demeanor
·Good organizational skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
·Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in an IT related field from four-year college or university, preferred
·10+ years of work experience within a large firm or equivalent experience in a matrixed environment
·Experience working effectively in an Agile/Scrum environment
·PMP or CSM Certifications preferred
·Expert knowledge in various Project Management and Product Development concepts, methodologies and processes
ESSENTIAL DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DUTIES and/or SKILLS
- Provide leadership, training and oversight of management and staff
- Lead/Facilitate project Meetings to obtain schedule, issues, risk and dependency updates
- Expert proficiency in the use of labor, cost management and project tracking and management tools such as MS Project, Digital.ai Agility or similar
- Monitor and coordinate cross-initiative and team dependencies
- Design and introduce changes to process as needed
- Ability to communicate highly complex technical information clearly and articulately for all levels and audiences
- Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities
- High critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy
- Expert in understanding the SDLC and Agile methodology disciplines
- Experience in effectively managing remote staff
- Other duties as assigned
