Summary of Position 

The Security Officers monitor grounds to prevent theft, violence, or other company losses. Including inspection of emergency response systems.  

 

The persons hired for the position of Security Officerwill work two Days 06:00 – 18:00 and two Nights 18:00 – 06:00 on a four-on-four off shift pattern. We offer paid vacations, paid sick-time, paid training, health coverage including medical, dental, and vision coverage. The positions report to the Environmental Health Safety & Security Department to ensure a safe working environment at our Loughborough facility.   

  

Job Responsibilities 

  • Maintain a safe and secure environment by touring the premisesmonitoring grounds via surveillance equipment.  
  • Inspect emergency response equipment (i.e. spill cabinets, fire extinguishers, AEDs, fire suppression systems, etc.) and audit facility equipment. 
  • Interact with a variety of persons including clients, visitors, and employees. 
  • Directs visitors, provides temporary visitor IDs, and maintains visitor logs.
  • Follows Post-Order instructions and Crisis Management Plan procedures. 
  • Ability to work in all-weather elements. 
  • Promoting safety by being alert to observe, correct, and/or report any hazards. 
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results. Includes support updates to procedures, trainings, and written programs. 
  • Participate in training and become familiar with general safety procedures and Crisis Management Plan response. 
  • Responds to security breaches, prepares reports describing the incident or accident.  
Minimum Requirements
  • Be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma (or equivalent).  
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license.  
  • Pass all required background and drug screenings. 
  • Be customer service oriented.
  • Have intermediate computer skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Be able to perform routine foot patrols, operate an electric powered cart (e.g. golf cart), and do moderate lifting. 
  • Present oneself in a professional manner through appearance and conduct. 
Skills & Experience
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.  Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles emergency response complex issues and problems; refers only the most complex issues to higher-level management.  Possess at least 4 years of comprehensive knowledge of subject matter. Proven ability to interact with others in a timely, informative, and professional manner. CPR, AED, and First-Aid certification
