Security Officer

The persons hired for the position of Security Officer will work two Days 06:00 – 18:00 and two Nights 18:00 – 06:00 on a four-on-four off shift pattern. We offer paid vacations, paid sick-time, paid training, health coverage including medical, dental, and vision coverage. The positions report to the Environmental Health Safety & Security Department to ensure a safe working environment at our Loughborough facility.   

Job Responsibilities 

• Maintain a safe and secure environment by touring the premises, monitoring grounds via surveillance equipment.  
• Inspect emergency response equipment (i.e. spill cabinets, fire extinguishers, AEDs, fire suppression systems, etc.) and audit facility equipment. 
• Interact with a variety of persons including clients, visitors, and employees. 
• Directs visitors, provides temporary visitor IDs, and maintains visitor logs.
• Follows Post-Order instructions and Crisis Management Plan procedures. 
• Ability to work in all-weather elements. 
• Promoting safety by being alert to observe, correct, and/or report any hazards. 
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results. Includes support updates to procedures, trainings, and written programs. 
• Participate in training and become familiar with general safety procedures and Crisis Management Plan response. 
• Responds to security breaches, prepares reports describing the incident or accident.  

• Be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma (or equivalent).  
• Maintain a valid driver’s license.  
• Pass all required background and drug screenings. 
• Be customer service oriented.
• Have intermediate computer skills.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Be able to perform routine foot patrols, operate an electric powered cart (e.g. golf cart), and do moderate lifting. 
• Present oneself in a professional manner through appearance and conduct.
