Kindeva is a global pharmaceutical contract developer and manufacturer (CDMO) business with locations around the world and was established following 3M’s sale of substantially of all its drug delivery business and Pfizer injectable business to Altaris Capital Partners.

 

Summary of Position:

Kindeva is seeking an experienced Tax Professional to lead the Corporate Tax Function for the company. You will be responsible for all direct and indirect tax reporting and compliance across the various Legal entities in which we operate along with tax planning, risk management and tax accounting. You will also work closely with Altaris on partnership tax reporting and planning.

 

The successful candidate will interact with External Tax Partners to develop and lead the strategy for the company and build the Tax department for the enterprise.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

Accounting and Plant Reporting:

  • Work with External Tax partners to develop and lead Kindeva’s tax strategy, assessing the tax impact of critical initiatives and driving tax decision making that improves shareholder value.
  • Overseeing efficient and accurate global direct and indirect tax compliance
  • Assess and optimize tax flows between various legal entities, including Foreign vs. Domestic, and various legal structures  (LP, LLC, C-Corp)
  • Provide necessary tax related information to Private Equity Partner in support of their partnership tax requirements
  • Driving efficient and accurate tax processes including automation and tax specific technology tools
  • Make decisions on Kindeva tax positions and ensure sufficient documentation and appropriate support for technical positions
  • Periodic communication to the Audit and Finance Committee of the Board of Directors
  • Manage multiple foreign and domestic tax engagements from start to finish including filing of tax returns.
  • Keep abreast of tax & accounting rules and regulations. 

 

Leadership:

  • An ability to take an engagement from start to finish including tax returns.
  • Work with Global Finance staff to accumulate data for the returns
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A desire to take on a leadership role and to foster greater relationships within the organization.
  • Strong tax & accounting knowledge and a desire to continue to develop that knowledge.
  • Assist global finance and accounting team in the development and implementation of best-in-class tax practices.

 

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of tax experience, combination of Big 4 public accounting firm experience and global public company, public company experience preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in global company
  • Ideally CPA, JD, Master’s in Public Accountancy or Masters in Taxation
  • Proven ability in translating complex tax issues and requirements to people without tax backgrounds
  • Experience with Tax tools and software
  • Good communication skills and proven ability to develop professional relationships with internal and external parties.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a culture of excellence, integrity, and accountability.
  • Ability to add value changing the culture and improving operating efficiencies and margins for the company
