Summary of Position
The Northridge Plant Operations Director oversees all operations of the Northridge Kindeva plant. The position will require a forward-thinking view of strategic plans for all operations along with the planning and execution capabilities to implement this vision.The person must champion and lead through example to maintain a culture of safety, compliance, and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices.The leader is responsible for day-to-day operations to ensure achievement of improvements and production goals that are aligned with corporate objectives.A key aspect of this role is to develop other leaders within the organization and develop a culture of development and achievement.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee all manufacturing operations for a pharmaceutical facility.
- Responsible for the safety, environmental, and financial performance of the plant.
- Drive obverall equipment effectiveness and a culture of continuous improvement with effective root cause analysis and data driven decision making.
- Partner with finance to report out on the financial performance versus plan, adjusting as necessary to meet business objectives.
- Serve as a coach and mentor for the management team in developing a culture of achievement.
- Collaborate with research and development and project management office to scale up new processes at the plant on time and within budget.
- Identifying opportunities for improvement of training, quality, planning, scheduling, safety, operating costs, and other aspects of operations.
- Provide input and feedback on capital plans and priorities
- Managing employee performance in adherence to corporate and site policies and procedures
Key Working Relationships
This role must maintain strong working relationships cross-functionally with business partners and peers across the globe.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Ten (10) years of plant supervisory experience in private, public, government or military environment.
- Experience in a pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industry.
- Skills include strong written and verbal communication, strong organizational skills, and strong presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to interface with internal customers, management, and external vendors.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) experience
- Lean Six Sigma experience
- Results oriented and strong execution skills
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Effective decision making with the ability to influence others
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
