Kindeva Drug Delivery

The role of Occupational Health Nurse, at Kindeva will be to evaluate workplace environments to identify possible hazards that employees may face on the job and to prevent work related illness and injury.  You will also support in the management of sickness absence and rehabilitating employees back into the working environment. As an Occupational Health Nurse, you will provide first aid for minor injuries, monitor work conditions for potential dangers, and support the EHS team to suggest job change for employees who are ill, injured, or pregnant.

 

Role

Your work as an Occupational Health Nurse will involve completing regulatory occupational health checks on our workforce and potential new recruits. This will involve but is not limited to:

  • Completing occupational health medicals to relevant local standards to ensure that workers meet the minimum health requirements to work safely.
  • Documenting all employee injuries and illnesses within the workplace
  • Serving as a gatekeeper for healthcare services and making referrals where necessary.
  • Monitoring the health status of workers.
  • Overseeing regular health surveillance of workers to ensure the early identification of ill health and identification of any corrective actions required in line with HSE guidelines and COSSH / NEBOSH standards.
  • Provide specialist advice to line managers and HR during periods of ill health or sickness absence along with detailed medical reports summarising recommendations and return to work plans in accordance with best practice and the Equality Act
  • Complete drugs & alcohol testing as needed.
  • To assist the lead Occupational Health Nurse to monitor, review and develop Occupational Health Policies and procedures to ensure they meet legislation and Department of Health & Social Care recommendations and reflect standards of best practice.
  • Support the site in developing its Mental Health wellbeing strategy.
  • Proactively support the organisation in the delivery of wellbeing initiatives, including health related work based risk assessments, compliant record keeping and medical data confidentiality
  • Provide full remit of Occupational Health, working collaboratively with Health and Safety, Human Resources, Operations Management and Employees.
  • Attend weekly absence meetings with HR, providing an overview of OH activities and updates on absence cases
  • Deliver presentations / training sessions to promote health and wellbeing
  • Take part in departmental audits

Knowledge and Experience

  • NMC Level One registration
  • Relevant OH Diploma or Degree within Occupational Health Management
  • Preferable to be on part 3 of the NMC register.
  • The successful candidate should be a qualified registered nurse (RN) with qualifications in Occupational Health Nursing (OHN).

Reporting into the Senior Occupational Health Nurse (based in US) the position is responsible for supporting the Occupational Health service at both Kindeva locations in the UK (Loughborough, East Midlands and Clitheroe, Lancashire) to focus on the physical and mental wellbeing of employees in the workplace.
