POSITION OVERVIEW

MRO Buyer will complete all aspects of purchasing including:

  • Develop and implement short and long-term procurement strategies designed to reduce costs and improve quality and service while meeting the goals and objectives of the organization. Manages the purchase of materials, replacement parts and supplies for the Manufacturing Plant and Maintenance.  Review requisitions and initiates purchase orders for supplies.
  • Responsible for PO setup/maintenance, Vendor setup/maintenance. 
  • Use proven procurement methodologies, best practices, governing laws, policies, and market conditions relevant for the purchase ensuring fair and transparent Procurement.
  • Communicate and manage relationships with suppliers and stakeholders both internal and external to help mitigate any issues in a proactive manner.

Responsible for IMS program including:

  • To provide support required to maintain and develop KI’s ISO Quality systems. The successful candidate will handle, process and issuance for the maintenance of projects and Quality Management System documentation in accordance with agreed procedures.  Develop/maintain all internal quality system policies, procedures, work instructions, forms, and documents.
  • Lead auditor and coordinator for all internal and external audits.
  • Cost of Quality (COQ) analysis of customer satisfaction. Analyze and assimilate data from several sources to generate reports and findings for current and future quality profiling and corrective measures by ensuring accurate utilization of data. Act as KI Canada resource for all related COQ information.

 

List of functions required of a person to perform this position.

Completing all necessary aspects of procurement for the MRO Buyer Function including:

  • PO setup, meeting with and understanding the requirements for Maintenance and Manufacturing for supplies, materials, and replacement parts plus other applications as necessary.
  • Developing and managing inventory stocking programs for commonly used replacement parts and supplies.
  • Proactively procuring supplies and replacement parts for upcoming preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Ordering and expediting parts for equipment breakdowns.
  • Work collaboratively with Manufacturing and Maintenance on projects and programs.

IMS Coordinator will be required to:

  • Plan internal and external audits, complete Management Review meetings, upkeep of IMS training packages and complete presentations.

COQ and IMS Maintenance:

  • Maintain IMS program including PRFs, complete COQ reports weekly, monthly, quarterly and for annual distribution. Analysis of data as required.

Audit both IMS and COQ:

  • Lead (coordinate) and perform both internal and external audits. Summarize findings and monitor corrective actions. Train and lead internal auditors.

Control:

  • Ensure compliance to all applicable IMS standards and requirements. Provide IMS support internally. Control all IMS documents.

  • Quality and Environmental Systems Management experience

CERTIFICATIONS/
