The Holzma Saw Operator performs production activities to supply assembly areas with required product for customer orders.  These activities must be performed efficiently, safely and with quality in mind.  This position requires the use of hand tools, assembly equipment and the ability to follow production schedules.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

PRODUCTION:

  • Correctly start up and operate the Holzma Saw
  • Accurately cut board using both the front feed and back feeding systems on saw
  • Operate the DISA dust collector, run the cleaning cycle, and empty dust collection bins daily
  • Proficiency in precision measurement and inspection
  • Conduct basic operator preventative maintenance, checks, and service as required
  • Conduct routine adjustments
  • Troubleshoot problems
  • Work in other production areas as needed

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:

  • Document downtime reasons & review regularly with Process Managers
  • Provide suggestions for improvements regularly
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement and encourage suggestions from team members

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • High School or Equivalent Preferred

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • An understanding and ability to use the BPCS system to print and scan labels
  • Correctly read an MPR and shop packets
  • Must be able to work well under tight deadlines
  • Must be able to work overtime when needed
  • Must be willing to help out other cells when not busy
  • Ability to read tape measure and drawings
