Interior Designer, Space Planner

We are looking for an Interior Designer/Space Planner to join our sales team in Chicago. This is a full-time position and will work from KI's sales showroom in the Merchandise Mart in Chicago.  Some flexibility to work remotely is allowed.  

 

In this position you will work closely with KI Sales Specialists, Dealers and Customers to provide direct support in CAD/CET, minor space planning and quoting.  Responsibilities include assisting with the preparation of collateral materials to support local sales, and creation of drawings and renderings.  In addition, this position will have responsibility for showroom activities, pre/post-sales support, and customer experience functions as required with in the district.  The Field Designer is expected to have extensive knowledge on multiple product lines to provide exemplary service to KI customers. 

 

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in drafting, interior design, architectural design or related field.  Some previous commercial furniture design experience is helpful. Strong AutoCAD or CET proficiency and rendering skills desired.  Professional written and oral communication skills along with strong visual and spatial awareness.
