Job Responsibilities:  

  • Maintenance associates will be required to complete training utilizing both hands-on and e-learning skills assessments with the local technical college. 
  • Troubleshooting electrical issues and determine problem/cause and repair/replace defective parts.
  • Repair and replace switches, fuses, bulbs, wiring, circuit boards, elements, and etc.
  • Layout and erect new lighting circuits.
  • Work on DC and AC drive systems, programmable controls, power distribution, temperature controls, and machine controls.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Install all types of conduit, making bends, threading, and reaming.
  • Perform mechanical repairs dealing with hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, welding, and burning, piping, etc.
  • Maintain and continuously develop 5s system that addresses safety, housekeeping, quality, and continuous improvement.

Employees may perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Job Skills and Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to meet job-related test scores.
  • Must possess at a minimum, basic knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical repairs.
  • Good communication and people interaction skills.
  • Self-starter and intrinsically motivated.
  • Acceptable skills in reading, math, and problem-solving. 
  • Willing to work flexible hours and be on an emergency call when needed.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights.

Preferred: 

  • Completion of a technical degree in electrical (or related field).
  • 3 years’ experience as an industrial electrician.

Work Hours and Benefits:

  • During the training period for this position, associates will work 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Upon completion of training, the associate's shift will change to 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
  • Maintenance associates will be required to work a 40-hour work week plus overtime (weekend) due to the nature of facility equipment.
  • Associate starting salary will be commensurate with experience, with a minimum starting hourly rate of $25.56.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed in a normal manufacturing area, and on the shop floor.
  • This position has exposure to moderate noise levels, moving mechanical parts, electrical power distribution, and controls, compressed air systems, hydraulic systems, steam distribution and generation, various types of lubricants, chemical and wash baths, extreme heat from furnaces, extreme cold from cryogenic units, mechanical machine operation, etc.
  • Will be regularly required to perform work in awkward positions (climb, stand, sit, and reach with hands, fingers, and arms).  Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching are required.
  • Regularly required to perform work in tight spaces.
  • Work in confined spaces with proper training.
  • This position requires moving work up to 100 pounds (with assistance from others) and pushing or pulling work up to 250 pounds with proper equipment.
