Summary/Purpose

Standard job function is to operate and maintain equipment, electrical, pneumatic, conveyors systems in the Heat Treat area. Primary function is to set up and run the Quench Press, and assist with CCF Loading, Wire and Quality Checks, PT-9 repacking or other assigned tasks as required.  Produce parts in accordance with engineering and quality specifications. Lead and train technicians as needed.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

• Work with a team to fulfill production requirements, foster continuous improvement, and maintain a safe working area.
• Assist in training new hires, and assist in the development of team members.
• Perform adjustments and address short stops to reduce production line stop. Perform tool changes. Perform operational preventive maintenance according to schedules. Change molds, and die tooling.
• Read dial indicators and other measuring devices to insure quality standards are met. If manufacturing process is causing quality issues, stop production and consult with the “C” Tech or Heat Treat Engineer to correct the quality issue.
•  (Stop, Call, and Wait).
• Record production results, quality checks, and scrap as required.
• Responsible for assisting in 5-S and daily housekeeping.
• Perform major cleanup on the lines as required.
• Assist in performing NMT Logistic route as required.
• Will be required to perform multiple back filling tasks, i.e. covering for absence, vacation, FMLA. This includes, but is not limited to own department.
• Ability to perform Heat Treat Structure Quality checks.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or GED, Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Be able to work in Hot / Cold environment.
• The performance of this position will require exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
