Primary Responsibilities: Under general direction of the department manager, the Production and Delivery Associate accepts sales orders from various sources, including Japanese Answering Service, for gift basket and Omiyage products, prepare gift baskets, pack Omiyage merchandise, and deliver to designated locations.

Percent Time Spent

Essential Functions


1. Assemble gift and/or Omiyage (souvenir) products that meet production standards (frequently written in Japanese language) determined by management. Ensure that products are prepared accurately.


2. Deliver gift products to designated location in company vehicle, including to airport.


3. Regularly manage inventory and place orders to business partners as necessary. Pickup or deliver products.


4. Generate monthly reports (i.e. inventory, delivery destination, expenses, material cost, sales volume, and product quantity) and submit to department managers by deadline.

Secondary Functions:

1. Assist other departments or sections as required.

2. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. High school graduate.

2. Required to possess at least one (1) year experience in customer service or equivalent experience.

3. Possess strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.

4. Able to effectively and professionally communicate with employees, business partners, and clients in English and Japanese, via written and verbal communication methods.

5. Required to possess a valid Hawaii driver license with clean driver abstract;

6. Required to qualify for an Airport Badge.

7. Possess knowledge of tour industry, tour movements and arrangements, as well as working knowledge of Hawaii’s tourism infrastructure and understanding different countries’ tour characteristics and needs.

8. Able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copier, printer, multi-line telephone system, cellular phone, facsimile machine, other standard office equipment, email, company vehicle (with prior approval).

Working Conditions:

Working Hours

1. Normal business hours: 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., 7 days a week

2. Up to 40 hours per week; must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, and holidays.

3. Overtime may be necessary, with prior approval from management

4. Subject to varying weather conditions. Including but not limited to: air conditioned office, noise, dust, fumes and vehicle exhaust.

Physical and Mental Demands

1. Must be able to observe documents from computer screens.

2. Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

3. Constant – requires vision, hearing, eye-hand-foot coordination;

4. Frequent – requires pushing, sitting, standing, walking, bending

5. Occasional – requires pulling up to 50 lbs., lifting and carrying less than 25 lbs.

6. Occasional – requires forward and overhead reaching;

7. Seldom – required to pull, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.;

8. Seldom – requires running, stair climbing, squatting, kneeling, stooping, twisting, side bending, grasping, handling, finger dexterity;
