Reporting to the Head of Wealth Management, this senior level position will be responsible for managing a team of investment, insurance, lending, and wealth solution professionals whose responsibilities include the development and ongoing management of the firm’s wealth management solutions set – including Annuities, Insurance, Funds, Corporate Trustee services, Credit/Lending, and Retail Fixed Income and Equity Trading. This individual will help lead the design, specification and implementation of new product/solution offerings while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Wealth and Investment Solutions area within Wealth Management. These areas currently include Investment Company products, Banking/Lending products, Insured Solutions, 3rd party Corporate Trustees, and Retail Trading. 

 

This professional will continuously collaborate across Wealth Management and the broader organization to establish ongoing strategic direction of the wealth solution set and will deliver that strategy through ongoing functional and capability innovation. A key objective of this role will be to ensure that Janney’s Wealth Management platform remains competitive and well positioned to serve the varied needs of our financial advisors and clients.  This professional will collaborate frequently with the Head of Wealth Management to establish a clear business plan to deliver a unified and scalable platform experience and will participate in various industry settings to help establish Janney as thought leader on wealth management solutions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • As part of Wealth Management’s senior leadership team, contribute to Janney’s overall growth by setting the strategic direction of the firm’s investment solution set while developing a business case and strategy to achieve revenue and risk management goals.
  • Assist Janney financial advisors in deepening and growing client relationships through identifying relevant wealth solutions that address client needs through a holistic, planning centric model.
  • Manage a team of service-centric professionals while fostering a culture of engagement and integrity.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and other internal/external partners to better align Wealth Management solution set with financial advisor value proposition and PCG productivity metrics.
  • Evaluate, review, and advise and, in certain instances, approve new and existing investment products as a member of the firm’s Product Review Committee.
  • Work closely with Wealth Management Research to maintain a strong level of initial and ongoing due diligence over partner solutions.
  • Work in partnership with Legal & Compliance professionals regarding risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, policy exceptions and client/partner agreements.  
  • Work closely with Financial Planning and Advisory Solutions to ensure an integrated and unified advisor and client experience.

 

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry; specifically, within a broker-dealer environment.
  • Substantial experience leading a large, professional level staff, with increasing level of responsibility.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with prior experience interfacing with Financial Advisors and other sales personnel strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of the competitive landscape specifically around Investment and Insurance Company solution set.
  • Exceptional written and presentation skills.
  • Solid understanding of financial planning concepts including retirement income, charitable giving, estate planning, portfolio implementation, and risk management.
  • Well versed of the broader wealth management industry and able to help shape the solution and offering for Janney Financial Advisors.
  • Are self-motivated with high level of attention to detail.
  • Possess FINRA Series 7 & 66 (or 63 & 65), Series 24; life/Health Insurance licensing preferred.
  • Possess CFA, CFP, ChFC or CIMA designation which is a plus but not required.
  • Be able to work a hybrid schedule in Philadelphia office approximately 3 days per week
