Department description:
Market Development is responsible for improving and maintaining the wholesale electricity market designs. Our work is project-based and involves analyzing a multitude of issues, evaluating and prioritizing alternatives, considering various stakeholders' requirements, and promoting responsible market solutions. Our team consists of professional market analysts, data analysts, and economists who work collaboratively.

What will you be working on:
As an intern for Market Development, you will contribute to business management improvements for project data and information systems. You will evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements to align department's use of system with the business process. You will be able to make hands-on changes to how systems are used to store, track, or report information and provide the department with training on their initiatives.  

How will you make an impact:
In this internship, you will experience the role of a business systems administrator in a real world context where systems and process must adapt to the changing needs of managers (e.g., larger project teams) and changing capabilities of technology (e.g., newly-available collaboration tools). You will learn how to evaluate trade-offs between and ideal and a practical solution and practice with promoting their ideas.

What we look for in a candidate:
  • Business Management, Information Management or Information Technology study field
  • Business information system knowledge; such as relational data systems; content managements systems, or document management systems.
  • Interest in process and information system design
  • Understanding of user experience 

To be eligible for the internship candidate must have completed at least the first year of college and be currently enrolled in a four year or graduate-level academic program. Candidates must have the authority to work in the US on a permanent basis, without requiring sponsorship.
