Department description: 
IT Real Time Markets Support provides subject matter expertise to Energy Management Systems, Energy Markets and Software Development to critical business units within ISO-NE. Work with Control room, Markets Administration, Outage Coordination etc. mission critical departments on a day to day basis and provide 24X7 applications and software support. Interns, employees and consultants work on State of the art algorithms and software development and production support.

What will you be working on:
Real Time Markets Support department is currently pursuing technology upgrade for legacy applications, which are running 24X7 and providing vital insights on Electric Power Grid and Energy markets to Control Room operations. As part of the technology upgrade, the software development team is developing solutions using RESTful Micro services and HighCharts under Springboot and or cloud based Docker containers. The candidate will work in latest technology suite using Java, RESTful micro services architecture. The ideal candidate can develop software and or provide test automation insights or prepare metrics for performance evaluation with the help from senior developers and architects. 

What we look for in a candidate:
  • We are looking for enthusiastic person who can work in teams and collaborate with others effectively. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel is required. 
  • Familiarity with Confluence is a plus. 
  • Programming familiarity in one of the following languages is required viz. Python, Java, C, C++ or Oracle. Advanced programming concepts like Web programming, Docker etc. is a plus. 
  • Candidate should be able to understand complex data flows and work independently when required. 
  • Should be familiar with Electrical Engineering concepts or Software development life cycle and change management concepts.

To be eligible for the internship candidate must have completed at least the first year of college and be currently enrolled in a four year or graduate-level academic program. Candidates must have the authority to work in the US on a permanent basis, without requiring sponsorship.
