Department description
The Advanced Technology Solutions (ATS) department engages in both long-term research projects and near-term design/process improvements. The department consists of experts in three topic areas: power systems, simulations, and markets. In all projects, the goal of the department is to provide innovative and practical solutions to current and emerging questions for ISO New England.

What will you be working on:
In this role, you will create GridLAB-D distribution system model using actual distribution system model data and perform transmission and distribution simulation studies using the HELCIS platform. This position will help develop an approach to validate composite load models used in transmission planning studies involving the DERs.

How will you make an impact:
Through working with actual power system data and developing practical problem solutions, you will gain valuable knowledge and experience from the electrical power industry. You will work with large-scale system data, and develop application tools that meet production requirement.

What we look for in a candidate:
  • Pursing degree in the electrical power engineering field. 
  • Familiar with the electrical distribution system model and the GridLAB-D software.
  • Experience in the Python programming language.
