Patient Sales Director
Job Summary:
The Patient Sales (PS) Director will lead a team of sales managers and sales representatives to meet and exceed business objectives. The key duties will include hiring and developing members of their team, creating, and executing sales strategies, and developing and managing the Sales department budget.
The PS Director will be responsible for the performance of their team which will include managing and driving the sales process to deliver results. This position will be responsible for ensuring that their team follows both regulatory and company requirements. The PS Director will work closely with the VP of Patient Sales and the VP of Marketing to implement comprehensive sales programs and strategies in alignment with key corporate initiatives.
Responsibilities (Specific tasks, duties, essential functions of the job)
- Lead, motivate, mentor, develop, and retain a team of PS Managers to meet business objectives, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and drive profitable, sustainable growth
- Develop and execute an aligned business plan, which delivers product sales growth, and volume objectives, while effectively addressing the unique needs and requirements of the customer and the marketplace
- Collaborate extensively, at all organizational levels and cross functionally, with key internal partners to establish collaborative working relationships and effective operating networks to facilitate positive business interactions
- Coach and mentor direct reports on improving individual and team performance across all parts of the sales process, as well as effectively influencing internal and external partners to foster building mutual alignment, embracing challenging dynamics, and achieving business outcomes that are both patient-centric and company responsible
- Define business goals and objectives with aligned growth strategies to reach/exceed business performance goals
- Identify opportunities for sales process improvements and activate needed solution, through cross functional collaboration
- Provide regular oversight of market dynamics and approaches, assessment of core influences, business execution, and performance metrics
- Ensure all responsibilities of the team are carried out with adherence to the company policies and procedures
- Develop, lead, and execute talent management strategy to recruit, retain, and develop a productive onsite and/or remote sales team Patient Services Sales talent across the organization
- Work with PS Managers to help them develop and execute strategies to optimize leads, create strategic call plans, and develop a robust sales pipeline
- Work with fellow Directors and champion a strong culture of appreciating diverse thought, achieving goals together, caring and commitment to each other and to our patients
- Celebrate successes and reinforce strong performance management responses to continually monitor and measure PS Specialists’ productivity, motivation, and achievement of goals
- Strive to ensure that the team routinely meets or exceeds set goals for call volume, service delivery, and sales targets
- Ensure sales organization is meeting all compliance standards and expectations
- Responsible for assisting with reporting, special projects, and any other work-related duties as needed

- Business Acumen – Able to solve complex problems and can work across an organization (marketing, finance, customer service, logistics) to marshal resources that will positively impact the productivity results of a sales organization. Possess critical business thinking skills that show strength in analyzing key metrics (call activity, talk time, close rates, leads worked, etc.) so that action plans can be developed to improve performance across the sales organization
- Strategic Mindset – Ability to anticipate and prepare for various outcomes and prepare accordingly
- Staffing– Ability to help managers recruit, hire, and retain key talent to grow sales performance across the organization
- Technical Competency – Ability to effectively use CRM systems (Salesforce) and Telephony systems (NVM)
- People management – Manage a team of exempt and non-exempt professionals aligned to supporting the operational requirements of DTP and RDM (Training, Quality Assurance and Analytics)

Qualifications (Experience and Education)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, English, Communications, or related field of study, required
- MS/MBA/MA, preferred
- 10 years’ proven sales experience
- 5+ years management experience with experience leading managers
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, required
