The hourly rate will be $50-$60 . Salary offers will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, skills, training and education.

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s most effective organization, is seeking On Call Equine Cruelty Investigations Trainers for our Outreach, Engagement and Training department. These positions will be responsible for conducting training programs on equine cruelty investigations for law enforcement officers.This is a non-HSUS position and will be employed through a 3rd party.

Each position will be responsible for:
• Conducting training sessions covering areas such as equine husbandry, anatomy, behavior, handling and cruelty investigations
• Fostering relationships with law enforcement students and host agencies on behalf of the Humane Society of the United States;
• Consulting with the Law Enforcement Training Specialist on training opportunities;  
• Coordinating training schedules with the training demands of the Law Enforcement Training Center; 
• Working in partnership with other Law Enforcement Trainers on content development and trainings
• Providing feedback on training content and updating lesson plans to improve the effectiveness of courses
 
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
• One year of related training experience required;
• Experience working closely with law enforcement on animal crimes preferred;
• Strong knowledge of equine cruelty investigations and experience handling/working with horses required
• Knowledge of farm/large animal cruelty investigations preferred
• Excellent verbal communication skills and experience with public speaking;
• Must be able to and willing to travel.

This position will be based from a home office location within any state in the Continental United States with travel required.
