Location: Syracuse, NY (100% in the office)

Description: This individual will transcribe and type correspondence, draft legal documents, draft real estate documents, electronically file various legal documents. Provide a variety of administrative duties including photocopying, mailing of various documents, payment of invoices and scanning and saving documents to document management system.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Receive new referrals, attend to conflict check and matter opening, run PACER and SCRA searches, run USPS and Land Data searches to confirm property address, save referral documents to NetDocuments, request foreclosure certificate from title company
  • Electronically file foreclosure action and various pleadings
  • Prepare payoff and reinstatement quotes
  • Prepare Settlement Conference Documents and maintain settlement conference spreadsheet with conference scheduling and results of conferences
  • Schedule foreclosure sales, attend to publication and posting and communications with Referee
  • Prepare day of sale documents for foreclosure sale
  • Complete 30, 7, 2 and 1 day PACER and SCRA searches prior to foreclosure sale
  • Prepare Upset Price calculation
  • Communications with client to confirm bidding instructions
  • Confirm sale results with Referee and report to client
  • Complete investor reporting in applicable websites
  • Update client websites
  • Update various client status reports
  • Prepare Referee’s Deed, transfer documents and Report of Sale
  • Finalize 3rd party sale or sale to plaintiff and attend to recording Referee’s Deed and filing Report of Sale
  • Notify any appearing/answering parties with requested pleadings and attend to filing Affidavit of Service
  • Prepare Stipulations of Discontinuance or Order for Discontinuance and obtain necessary signatures from appearing/answering parties

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year legal administrative experience required, preferably in foreclosure or real estate transactions
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and expertise with computer assisted legal resources required
  • Experience with a document management system preferred
  • Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time sensitive documents, and utilize exceptional organizational skills
  • Must have excellent proofreading and attention to detail
  • Must exhibit well-developed interpersonal, client relation and listening skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to work with PDF document assembly/management software
  • Ability to work with diverse personalities within various levels of the organization
  • Exercise sound independent judgment under minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently as well as coordinate with a team
  • Military experience welcome
