Maintenance Technician

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform daily and/or routine maintenance and/or repair duties as assigned by Manager in Hope Haven residential and vocational setting.

2. Must have ability or capable in understanding and attain technological information relating to maintaining and diagnosing HVAC, security systems, and other technology equipment utilized in the agency resulting in ability to repair and maintain required upkeep.

3. Experience and knowledge of building structures and facility maintenance with the ability to perform basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and other property work in maintaining facilities.

4. Assist as needed in removal of snow from sidewalks and parking lots and general lawn care.

5. Follows all safety procedures and promotes safety among team and clients.

6. Other duties as assigned by Property Maintenance Manager.

5. Regular and reliable attendance is required.

6. Perform duties of Property Maintenance Manager in his/her absence.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Physical ability to lift 50 pounds.

2. Physical ability to climb ladder and maintain balance in confining conditions.

3. Ability to work indoors and outdoors through all seasons experienced in Northwest Iowa.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Willing to work flexible schedule to meet agency needs. (repair on call)

2. Valid Class C driver’s license required and be an insurable driver with our insurance company.

3. Clearance from all applicable background checks as required by service standards.

4. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions.

5. High school graduate or ability to obtain GED/HSED;

6. Good communication (verbal and written), organizational and leadership skills.

7. Computer literate or have basic knowledge computer skills.

8. Ability to complete Hope Haven courses and/or required orientation training and all other agency requirements.

9. Ability to pass a health assessment at time of hire and ability to maintain up to date health assessment as requested per regulations.

10. Reliable Transportation.

11. Provide proof of state minimum liability insurance coverage.
