SUMMARY

Senior Project Superintendent will oversee the day to day field operations of the project or area assigned, from planning to completion. This includes, but is not limited to daily scheduling, supervision of all site or area activities, tasks, and personnel, and ensuring the safety and overall compliance of the project or area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Confer with Pre-construction Services during the preparation of estimates regarding means and methods, systems, schedule, and general conditions.
  • Responsible for managerial, administrative and leadership aspects of the business unit.
  • Responsible for developing and executing a business plan for the market sector to include establish annual budgets and managing the sector to meet the defined goals within the annual budget.
  • Oversees all sectors project monthly project reviews and provides regular reporting to Division Management.  
  • Develop and nurture effective and lasting customer/client relationships.
  • Builds strong project team of subject matter experts in the market sector that strengthen the Market Sector and Building Division. This includes identifying needed resources and coordinating with HR to source new hires and conduct interviews.
  • Operates and conducts themselves as a Senior Leader of the company, motiving teams
  • Strong sense of urgency for internal business requirement as well as external / customer focused.
  • Coordinate with the Project Managers and Superintendent to ensure safety, quality control and schedule.
  • Effectively lead teams and communicates the Company’s and Sectors plan to achieve the Sector and divisions goals.
  • Establish project pre-planning activities to ensure coordinated efforts and outcomes in the field. Discuss and document during weekly coordination meetings.
  • Develop recovery plans to mitigate any delays to the critical path of the project. Monitor the development of the project expediting log and ensure that staff is updating the log weekly.

Make sure that Project Engineers are prepared to update the project schedule procurement activities accordingly.

QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering and or Construction Management; 7-10+ years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience considered.  Must have experience in Business development, Operations, managing projects and a thorough knowledge of commercial construction, safety standards, project management, and construction regulations.  Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion.
