H2M architects + engineers: Jeff Janota Memorial Scholarship
 
 
The H2M architects + engineers Jeff Janota Memorial Scholarship is awarded on the basis of merit and character to an individual who is currently pursuing a Master's Degree at a College/University in the field of Urban Planning/Development. H2M is a 500+ person architecture and engineering firm headquartered in Melville, NY with office locations throughout the NY/NJ metro area, lower Hudson Valley, and Albany.
 
Jeff Janota, AICP, PP was a dedicated Urban Planner who directed our Parsippany, NJ Planning Department form 2013 until his untimely passing in 2021. Jeff's career focused on ways to improve the community and the lives of the residents through implementing both practical and well established planning principles. 
 
 
Eligibility + Selection Criteria:

  • Applicant must be accepted into or currently enrolled in a Master's Degree in the field of Urban Planning/Development at a College or University.
  • Academic Achievement will be a significant factor in the selection process, however there are no specific grade requirements to apply.
  • ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS MUST BE UPLOADED TO THE APPLICATION IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP.

Required Documents:
  1. Personal Essay: (300-400 words, Detailing your career goals.)
  2. Current Resume
  3. College Transcript: (Undergraduate and Graduate)
  4. Two Letters of Recommendation: (From Professors or Professionals in the industry)

Deadline:
  • Deadline to Apply: January 15th, 2023
  • Recipient will be announced by the end of the year.


Scholarship Amount:

$5,000 will be awarded from the NJ APA, sponsored by H2M architects + engineers.
