Lead Early Learning Teacher - Classroom Float/Sub

The YMCA of Strafford County is seeking energetic, creative and nurturing Float Teachers to support our Early Learning classrooms and Before/Afterschool elementary-aged programs. We are growing and thriving and seeking a few more dedicated educators to round out our incredible team!

We have 3 – 4 float positions available with both part-time and full-time hours available.

Our Early Learning Center in Rochester, NH serves ages 6weeks through 5years and operates Monday – Friday 7:00a – 6:00p. Our Before/Afterschool programs operate out of elementary schools in Dover and Farmington and operates Monday – Friday 7:00 – 8:30a and 2:30 – 6:00p. A consistent schedule would be determined based upon candidate availability and program needs.

This is a wonderful opportunity for educators who might be looking to sample different age groups, for those who can never sit still and enjoy having each day be a different story, or for those candidates looking to support the youth in our communities but broaden their impact outside of just one classroom unit.

Responsibilities will include:

• Supporting curriculum and activity needs of the classroom depending on the days’ placement
• Providing age-appropriate instruction and supervision
• Ensuring the health and safety of children in direct care
• Performing child observations and assessments
• Working in collaboration as a team member with other classroom and program staff
• Maintaining professionalism at all times throughout the day
• Supporting ELC and Before/Afterschool programs on a flexible basis, depending upon program needs each day

Qualifications and Experience:

• NH Lead Teacher qualified (minimum)
• Associate or Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred)
• Prior childcare experience
• Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)

Work Hours/Pay Range:

• 20 - 40 hours per week, depending upon Candidate availability
• Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00a – 6:00p
• $19 - $23 per hour depending on experience
