Core Return Coordinator

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position is responsible for assisting the Lead Core Return Coordinator with handling and disposition of all cores for Caterpillar for the corporation.  Inspections must be accurate and performed efficiently to maximize the remanufactured components return on investment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Physically inspect cores in accordance with Caterpillar guidelines
  • Stage Caterpillar cores in correct cases awaiting shipment
  • Restart branch return documents or create return documents to provide customer and/or work order core credit
  • Obtain digital pictures on all cores resulting in partial or no core credit.  Update Poole Net with copy of picture and core tag.
  • Load Caterpillar cases onto core trailer for shipment back to Corinth
  • Coordinate pickup with CAT Transport for core trailer approximately every two weeks to include the proper documentation needed for pickup at GPEC and delivery at Corinth
  • Maintain PooleNet Excel spreadsheet and balance against CMIS II daily regarding case assignments on core trailer
  • Create new case with case number using PooleNet Excel spreadsheet
  • Process “W” documents and verify correct information entered against core tags inspected and received each day 
  • Physically accept responsibility for and sign failed warranty parts tag.  Assign location for all warranty holding parts (counter and shop) (failed warranty core and failed warranty part)
  • Update PooleNet Excel spreadsheet for warranty holding.  Dispose of failed warranty parts after appropriate timeframe, prepare warranty cores for shipment back to Corinth after appropriate timeframe
  • Assist Lead Core Return Coordinator with PRR’s (aka send it back) for Gregory Poole and TEPS dealers
  • Update and dispose of no credit cores after appropriate timeframe
  • Requires supervision throughout each day

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education:

High school graduate with at least two years work related experience

 

Work Experience:

Direct experience with cores or remanufactured products is preferred.

 

Physical:

Able to bend, stoop, kneel, climb and lift.

Able to routinely lift and carry parts for short distances weighing up to 35 pounds without aid or assistance.

Able to see and hear in order to operate warehouse equipment (i.e. forklift, crane, pallet jack, impact wrench, sweepers, etc.)

Must be proficient in computer function utilizing Microsoft office products and become proficient with other company software

 

Other:

Must be “keyboard” literate to adequately learn and use the computer systems utilized by GPEC
