Precast Drafter Job Description

Job Summary
This position is responsible for the development of production shop tickets, shop drawing details and the assembly of drawings for Structural precast concrete systems using Revit (BIM). Additional responsibilities include, producing erection drawings, production tickets, hardware drawings and working with management to ensure the details and drawings have been completed correctly so that the product is built to specifications; interacting with Engineers, Sales, Production, and QC to ensure product requirements are met is essential.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Drafting experience and the ability to illustrate and dimension drawings of floor systems as required
• Experience using Autodesk products including AutoCAD and Revit BIM. Previous Revit experience is required
• Willingness to learn and adapt to GATE Precast standards as needed
• Willingness and ability to work as a team player
• Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
• Ability to read blueprints
• Must be detailed oriented
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Experience in similar concrete related industry desired

Education Requirements

• Associate's degree in the related field

Physical Requirements

• Sitting for prolonged periods
• Standing
• Keyboarding
• Speaking
• Moving objects occasionally up to 20lbs
• Mainly and office position; but will require some time outdoors and in a production environment.
• Must be able to wear PPE while in production environment which includes, work boots, hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses and hi-vis vest
