Essential Functions:
Provides customer service that exceeds expectations
Insures that all customers are treated courteously and that the needs of the customer are addressed efficiently
Provides the best customer experience by spending floor time with the customers and knowing them by name
Implements company policies, procedures, and objectives
Maximizes profits and sales by:
- implementing all division merchandise programs maintaining proper stock levels, layouts and displays in accordance with company policy, proper pricing,  coding and rotation
- controlling merchandise shortage and other selling expenses
Provides leadership and direction to employees to maximize profits and sales and to control expenses
Maintains in-store surveillance system to include reporting of improper angle and operation of all monitors, operation of recording unit, and reviewing of alarms daily
Supervises, manages, recruits, selects, trains, evaluates, schedules and fills any work shift voids resulting from the absence of scheduled employees
Provides leadership and direction to ensure we exceed customer expectations in service, cleanliness and merchandise
Conducts employee disciplinary action through documentation in the employee's performance evaluation and terminations in accordance with company policy with guidance from supervisor and/or Human Resources / promotes company-wide open door policy with a positive attitude toward the company and its policies
Encourages/builds "team" perspective by participating in store activities and functions, promotions of company-wide-open-door policy and positive attitude towards the company and its policies
Communicates details of all merchandise programs to store employees
Places grocery and merchandise orders
Promotes effective vendor relationships
Makes all bank deposits, completes all required paperwork, reviews and analyzes reports and transmits daily reports and other pertinent data to the Corporate Office
Verifies gasoline, diesel and kerosene deliveries for applicable units.
Conducts competitive price surveys of in-store merchandise at least once a month using three competitors and returns the data to the Purchasing and Merchandising Department
Conducts daily area wide competitive gasoline surveys
Executes robbery prevention procedures according to company policy
Promotes a safe working environment for employees and customers
Performs additional duties that may be required by supervisor or the company as a result of the location, nature or size of the store or other circumstances

Qualified Candidates Must:
Be at least 18 year of age to sell alcohol and tobacco products
Listen attentively and communicate clearly
Be honest, energetic, enthusiastic and exhibit a positive attitude
Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background investigation
Requirements

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
Must be able to perform all tasks and functions of a Sales Associate, Team Leader and/or Assistant Manager
Must be able to start work at 5am, and have ability to work varied hours/days to oversee store operations
Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and available to work additional uncovered shifts
Must possess basic reading and comprehension, writing as well as math skills
Must have Food Safety Certification or be able to take course and pass exam
Must be able to operate a personal computer 
Must have a valid driver’s license
  Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screening and background

Supervision of Personnel:
 
Sales Associates, Team Leaders and Assistant Managers

Physical Demands:

Activities: Walking/Standing – 95% Sitting – 5%
Bending, kneeling, reaching and stooping are required to perform the tasks of this position / adequate strength, balance and co-ordination are required

Lifting: Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Mental Demands: Problem solve, analyze, and interpret and meet deadlines
Environment: Climate controlled store / some outside work / walk-in coolers with exposure to excessive cold
