The Journal Star/ is seeking a journalist to be the second-in-charge editor to enhance our coverage of Peoria and central Illinois.

Top candidates are curious, smart, passionate and dedicated to working with reporters on unique, interesting and compelling stories on a daily basis. The perfect candidate also will have strong organizational, planning and communication skills.

•Work with reporters before, during and after the creation of content.

• Ensure that all reporting meets journalistic standards for fairness, thoroughness and quality.

• Edit articles daily


• Comfortable in stressful situations.

• Attention to detail and accuracy.

• Willing to learn more about SEO, social media and readership trends.
