Lead Full Stack Developer 

What We Need

FLEETCOR is currently hiring a remote Lead Full Stack Developer for the lodging line of business. The Lead Full Stack Developer is responsible for developing and supporting multiple web applications that source and provide lodging, meals, and transportation for airline crew and passengers. The candidate will contribute to all aspects of internet connected application development including performance, scalability, coding, caching, security, encryption, session state management, data management, error logging, and testing. In addition to strong technology skills, the candidate will use their organizational skill to triage, break up, assign, and status various tasks, train/assist junior engineers, and talk with customers and stakeholders. The primary technology skills for this position are Python, Django, JavaScript, and cloud technologies.

Role Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Implementing all aspects of a web-based application design – high performance design, coding, caching mechanisms, security, encryption, state management, error logging, debugging, scalability, code reviews, development environment configuration, unit testing, and manual testing.
  • Triaging, organizing, breaking up, and assigning tasks to team members.
  • Training and helping junior engineers.
  • Building web applications that interact with internal and external APIs.
  • Performing unit and system level testing on applications.
  • Participating and collaborate with internal and external clients, technology partners, and IT team members on IT product development initiatives in support of the company’s mission and strategies.
  • Other duties that pop up … we’re a small team after all. 

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in a role as a software developer
  • Expert in Python, the Python ecosystem, SQL, HTML
  • Experience with Django
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Responsive UI design experience
  • Database design/query optimization experience
  • Experience creating and consuming web services (JSON / XML)
  • A “Doer” – willing to jump in and help
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Nice to Have  

  • Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field is preferred
  • Airline & Hotel industry knowledge
  • Angular, React
  • AWS technologies, S3, EC2, Cognito, CloudFormation, SQS, SNS
  • Linux, Apache, Nginx
  • OWASP / Secure web design
  • Node, C#, .NET Core
