HR Business Partner Manager

 Location: Bridgewater, Virginia

 

Job Description:

The HR Business Partner provides HR support and direction to a designated organizational unit.  This position guides decision-making processes and positively impacts the results of the organization by recruiting, retaining, developing, and rewarding the industry’s best talent in a manner that is cost-efficient and compliant.

Job Responsibilities:                                             

  • Support the organization in a variety of HR functions including recruiting, retention, succession planning, performance management, compensation, benefits, engagement, legal compliance, employee changes, communications and employee relations
  • Provide direct HR Business Partner support to the Corporate organizational unit
  • Collaborate with the SVP, Human Resources and respective client groups to design organization structure, business process and systems that support their strategic goals
  • Work to create a high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce
  • Guides managers in areas such as benefits, compensation, training, recruiting, workforce planning, conflict management, performance management, etc.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are complaint with all federal, state and local regulations and are consistently administered
  • Proactively suggests and promotes processes that have positive return on investment and deliver value to internal and external customers
  • Monitor key metrics (i.e. turnover, attendance, etc.) to assist the location and/or functional area in effectively managing their workforce to maximize productivity and overall effectiveness
  • Demonstrate solid business acumen and ability to make HR decisions that ensure a positive impact on the bottom line
  • Foster teamwork at all levels and cross-functionally
  • Act as a catalyst for change with the ability to positively influence others to make difficult decisions
  • Job duties require interaction and presentations with VP/Directors or Officers and must be able to interact with the highest levels within the company
  • Maintain confidentiality concerning personnel actions, legal actions, termination and organizational plans.
  • Perform other projects as assigned

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or related discipline required
  •  5-7 years’ experience as a human resources generalist , including interviewing, performance management, HRIS systems and leading others
  • Experience in partnering with business leadership required
  • High degree of professional ethics, sense of fairness, and the ability to work with individuals at all levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop effective internal and external business relationships
  • Experience in an office setting handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude to utilize MS Office Products and HRIS (Dayforce preferred)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment meeting tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements
  • Strong project/time management skills
  • Detail oriented,  well organized and able to multitask
  • Negotiation skills and the ability to influence others through collaboration
  • Prior experience with union environments is strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel as needed (minimal travel expected)
