Senior Manager - Credit & Collections, Hybrid/Atlanta
What part will you play?
The Credit & Collections Senior Manager is accountable for managing, coordinating, and developing a highly trained and effective organization safely and efficiently manage the credit and collection functions for Diversified. This position is responsible for strategy, policy and procedure, analytics, and operational support across contributing functions. It directs identification and prioritization of work to support department and Diversified’s objectives. This position will ensure the implementation and oversight of the most effective and compliant collection policy and practices in accordance with regulations.
As the Credit & Collections manager you will play an instrumental role in the organization, interacting with customers, our sales team, and management to improve collection performance as well as assisting in the dispute resolution process. This role is in charge of building a best-in class operation, developing processes, providing functional expertise, constantly seeking efficiencies and driving stakeholder engagement & commercial success with an emphasis in exceptional customer service.
What will you be doing?
- Hire, train, develop, manage, and evaluate associates within the collections department and drive year over year improvement in engagement of the team. Organize the structure of the team for optimal performance and support for customers and business.
- Develops personnel to ensure efficient and highly skilled workforce to meet the department and organizational goals/activities; recommends training, assigns projects, and provides other avenues for employee development opportunities; provides constructive feedback and coaching to members when necessary to encourage professional development.
- Monitor trends in customer accounts to identify potential risk factors such as missed payments or bankruptcies.
- Monitoring collection activities to ensure that collectors are following proper procedures and ethical standards.
- Monitoring the status of delinquent accounts and contacting delinquent clients to encourage them to make payments on time.
- Reviewing accounts receivable records and identifying discrepancies in billing or collections activities
- Create and implement strategies to increase the number of successful collections.
- Qualify new clients and work with business leaders on credit applications.
- Utilize available tools to achieve reduction in AR working capital, minimize bad debt and deliver DSO improvement including using daily visual management to drive improvement in results.
- Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
- Establish regular cadence meetings with the Business Unit leaders to report client aging.
- Manage and prepare dashboards to monitor key performance indicators.
- Support annual audits.

What do we require from you?
- A Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Business Administration required - or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience and minimum of 5 years of proven collections experience.
- Ability to participate and meet multiple deadlines, prioritize work, and work overtime during quarterly and year end or high-volume collection periods.
- Experience user of Microsoft Office tools with advanced Excel skills
- Excellent negotiation and dispute resolution skills
- Excellent interpersonal and business communications skills (written and verbal) Must be able to interact professionally with internal and external contacts.
- Ability to maintain accuracy in a very detailed work environment, highly detail oriented
- Familiarity with SmartSheet a plus
