Audio-Visual Field Service Engineer - NY/NJ (AVE)


What will you be doing? 
  • Working knowledge or strong ability to provide technical support for:  Advanced AV Systems; Samsung Magic Info; Microsoft Surface Hubs; Crestron Flex; Evertz AV over IP infrastructure, Biamp Audio (Program and Speech, DSP based systems; Projection and Display Devices; Video Wall Display Systems; Digital Signage Systems; Streaming; Webcasting; Crestron XIO; Evertz MAA, Nucleus, VistaLink, & InSite; IPTV Headed / Distribution; Dante Domain Manager; Biamp SageVue, Crestron Fusion; Xio; Fortinet.
  • Working closely with field service director(s) on high level and/or complex service projects. This can include service projects that require, programming, field engineering and or installations  
  • Works closely with field service coordinators on staff’s schedules and adjusting the  staff’s schedules, based on technical and/or tactical  priorities  
  • Training of new staff on Connect-wise service operations, procedures, protocols and policies
  • Providing on the ongoing  training, coaching, and mentoring of  associate field service team members 
  • Technical liaison between Technical Operations, engineering and/or  program teams  and field service
  • Provides field engineering recommendations related to older- legacy system (systems built by others or Diversified) that require minor field upgrades. 
  • Reviews field service reports, every day, and provide guidance and direction to FSTs when needed
  • Bi-Weekly: reviews and addresses service staffs aging service tickets reports; works with his or her staff to move their service tickets forward to completion 
  • Working with the field service director, continually looks for processes and methods to improve our field service delivery
  • Working with the field service director, assessing FSTs test gear and  tool  requirements and making required  recommendations 
  • Working with the field service director, assessing  his/her staffs OJT and online  training requirements and ensuring that his/her staff is continually upgrading their skill sets 
  • Provides the highest level of field service delivery to our clients:  FSE will  service the equipment and systems associated with business/corporate, government, educational, houses of worship, arenas, theaters, multipurpose rooms, AV control room environments, and military. Depending on FSE background and training, this role may include  HD-SDI and / or SMPTE 2110  broadcast field service. 



What do we require from you?  

  • CTS certification from AVIXA + manufacturer certs (Evertz, Biamp, Crestron, Microsoft, Samsung, Magic Info)
  • Competencies in Microsoft Teams, Surface Hub, and video IPTV, Streaming, Webcasting products. 
  • Competencies in Crestron control systems (trouble shooting, basic communication concepts and protocols). 



    Decision Making Authority:
    This position requires excellent technical and tactical decisioning making skills. In addition, this position requires outstanding diplomacy in working with our external and internal clients as well as other key stakeholders. The FSE reports to and works closely with the Global Services Field Service Director.



    Physical Demands:
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that may be met by an employee. The FSE may be exposed to construction site conditions on rare occasions. FSE will be responsible for their safety while on job sites and to comply with all safety regulations in place by the GC. Use of PPE is usually required on job sites. The employee can typically spend at least 50% of their time on their feet and be required to mobile around the construction site. The employee must have the ability to occasionally climb ladders, use stairs and lifts (up to 30 feet) and/or move materials up to 50 pounds in construction. Ability to hear full spectrum of audio frequencies areas. The individual is regularly required to use keyboards, test equipment and controls required for SI installation projects. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth vision. When not on construction sites, the employee will experience normal office conditions and be required to use office equipment such as computers, peripherals, etc.



    Travel:
    Frequent travel by car or van  and occasional airplane trips are required. Employee must possess a valid driver’s license in their state of residence. Employee may  be required to use their own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage at the current corporate rate. Local travel to job sites (within a 2 hour driving distance each way)
