Audio-Visual On-Site Service Technician - Corning, NY

What part will you play?
This position provides daily customer operational service and technical support of audio-visual equipment and systems located within the following types of environments: business/corporate offices, auditoriums, divisible conference rooms, executive spaces, collaboration rooms, and open areas.  

What will you be doing?
Working knowledge or strong ability to provide technical support for:  Advanced AV Systems, Crestron/Evertz Source Control Devices, Microsoft Surface Hub, MSFT Teams Environment, Biamp Audio (Program and Speech, DSP based systems; Projection and Display Devices; Video Wall Display Systems; Digital Signage Systems; Streaming, Webcasting and Telepresence systems; Wireless Microphones / RF Systems; PTZ Wall Cameras; Display Technology; Samsung display technologies and Magic Info technologies.
  • Respond to Meeting Support Requests
  • Complete Preventative Maintenance visits to ensure all customer rooms and systems are operating in an optimum fashion
  • Troubleshoot, Respond to Service Issues of all AV equipment while planning and implementing improvements in AV equipment.  
  • Work with manufacturers to develop relationships related to equipment servicing (technical support, securing return authorizations, complete repair functions required to resolve customer issues)
  • Assemble reports and in-house paperwork to record customer interactions to meet SLA requirements
  • Working with a support desk system and the ability to document and follow through with outstanding ticketed issues, a must.
  • Work with the Client Teams and Service Team in the scheduling of meetings and preparation of meeting room accommodations for internal users. 
  • On Going Daily/weekly preventative maintenance visits and reporting to the Service Team to ensure equipment and customized space functionality is ready for use. 
  • Identifying defective or failed equipment and take ownership to resolution, escalation, replacement of spares and updating asset inventories.
  • Interface with equipment manufacturers, developers, engineers, and project managers on the client’s behalf to provide resolutions for highly complex systems. 
  • Safe and correct diagnosis of faults, removal, repair, test, implementation, and operation of all aspects of audio visual, video conference, display and presentation technologies. 
  • Participates in and drives continuous improvement activities across AV technologies and collaborate with client’s business conferencing team to improve/evolve technology solutions. Provide customers an elevated level of AV tech competencies & support.
  •  Develop an on-going customer relationship, resulting in future customer loyalty
  • Work with AV on site team to Assist in Installation, Re-Deployment, and Operations of existing client equipment and Commission systems in the field.
  • Work closely with the system programmer to ensure the control system is functioning as without any issues. Remote systems work with programmers is common to load new code and troubleshoot issues if needed.
  • Keep current on technology, latest firmware updates, common field issues.
  • Diagnosing known and found problems and formulating solutions.
  • Contributes lessons learned feedback to the client team to constantly improve system designs, and product selection, participation in product evaluation and testing on client location.
  • Point person for all AV break fix and service requests at the site, ensure a ready to use state.
  • Uphold company AV standards.
  • Perform resolution of any system/equipment repair faults discovered within systems.
  • Interface/liaison with others in efforts related to equipment faults and repair needs and facilitate equipment repairs as needed (RMA’s)
  • Develop and manage/maintain an inventory tracking/recording mechanism.
  • Continue to progress elevated technical skills related to technical systems characteristics.
  • Escalading and acting for Service now tickets

What do we require from you?
Education/Certifications:
A two-year diploma from a Technical School, or equivalent experience 

Required/Desired Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
  • CTS certification from AVIXA + manufacturer certs (Evertz, Biamp, Crestron, Microsoft, Samsung, Magic Info)  
  • Competencies in AutoCAD / Visio adequate to read drawings for rack layout & cabling 
  • Preference given to Three (3) years of experience conducting site surveys; constructing racks; pulling cable; installing projectors & sub-mounts; crimping / punch-down connections. 
  • Competencies in Microsoft Teams, Surface Hub, and video IPTV, Streaming, Webcasting products. 
  • Competencies in Crestron control systems (trouble shooting, basic communication concepts and protocols). 
  • Must be able to be very client facing and work with high level executives in high pressure meeting situations. 
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license with clean driving record  
  • Must be able to stand, kneel and/or crouch for long periods of time  
  • Must be able to work in high places, as well as small, cramped places  
  • Must be able to work in hot humid places, as well as cold places
