The Director of Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinics is responsible for the direction and leadership of operational, financial, programmatic, and personnel activities for Claratel Outpatient Clinics.  This includes establishing, meeting and continuously monitoring the goals and objectives while maintaining alignment with the strategic goals and objectives for Claratel Behavioral Health.  While the range of duties and responsibilities is broad and varied, the position’s major responsibility is providing programmatic and operational leadership to the Outpatient Clinics.  The Director works closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, coordinating the activities of the Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinics. The Director of Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinics is responsible to the Chief Clinical Officer. 

Major Responsibilities

Department Leader

Incorporates Claratel Behavioral Health’s vision, mission and values in goals and services within the Outpatient Clinics.

Develops and manages clinical operational initiatives with measurable outcomes.

Formulates objectives, goals and strategies collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Prepares and delivers reports to Executive Leadership outlining progress toward meeting semi-annual goals and objectives, to include performance related to finance, clinical activity, quality, safety, marketing and human resources.

Provides an experience and environment of client/family centered and recovery-oriented care with attention to trauma informed and evidence-based care.

Demonstrates effective collaboration with Executive Leadership

Serves as a Subject Matter Expert for staff and Executive Leadership teams

Financial Management

Develops and maintains a departmental budget

Informs reporting managers of the budget and context within the overall agency budget

Monitors financial data and uses the data to inform decisions regarding FTE’s, staffing and operational budget.

Monitors revenue and expenses and ensures site/staff performance is consistent with forecasted expectations.

Actively seeks opportunities to improve financial outcomes, engaging managers in the process.

Administrative Leader

Directs all activities within area of responsibility

Supervises clinical management of outpatient behavioral health clinic services.

Ensures agency policies and procedures are communicated and followed by staff

Engages managers and other stakeholders in continuous improvement of systems and processes

Develops and implements innovative systems and processes that improve staff and client quality and safety

Initiates, monitors and enforces regulatory requirements

Provides supervision of clinic management staff, ensuring a culture of learning and professional development.

Conducts random inspections/ audits of facilities and documentation.

Prepares and assists in the preparation of new and renewal applications for grants, contracts and budget development.

Participates in state audits, accreditation reviews, and incident response as indicated.

Critical Interfaces

Leads and/or serves on a variety of appropriate internal and external committees to represent the outpatient behavioral health services

Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders at local, regional and statewide levels in support of outpatient behavioral health services

 

Skill, Competency, and Education Requirements

 

Education and Licensure – Minimum of a master’s degree and licensure as a LPC (along with CPCS or ACS), LCSW or LMFT.

Work Experience – Minimum-Three years relevant experience in the management of outpatient behavioral health services or programs.

Preferred Experience – Has held administrative position with a behavioral health organization in Georgia that included clinical operations.

WORKING CONDITIONS
 

Works across several outpatient clinic sites and in the community.  Base work hours are 8:15am-5:00pm, however, this position entails attending meetings and events in the community that fall outside traditional work hours.
