Job Summary

The Senior Director of Total Rewards is data obsessed, has the highest attention to detail, is results-driven, collaborative and communicates to influence.

This individual has a global perspective, is a thought leader with the abilities to strategically advise key stakeholders and articulate the thought process behind recommendations in support of achieving strategic organizational goals aligned with Cynosure's culture and values.  He/She also thrives working hands-on in core operations and the end-to-end delivery of Global HR Total Rewards programs.  

This person is responsible for developing and administering consistent rewards and operations frameworks in HR in line with business needs, culture, and values including relevant programs to address domestic and international total rewards, payroll, and HR technology (Analytics, HRIS, HR Operations).   Set up, refine, own and administer a best in class, global compensation and benefits framework for Cynosure. Be able to “tell the People story” through data, analytics and reporting cadence. Ensure through all programs that employees are treated according to our values across the globe, while ensuring in-market competitiveness in line with Cynosure’s remuneration philosophy.  
Own end-to-end- delivery from strategy, design, implementation, to training, communication, and administration (inhouse or through 3rd parties) on all HR Total Rewards programs.  

 
This position is part of the HR Leadership Team at Cynosure reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, works closely with the Executive Leadership team and external vendor partners, while leading the Global HR Operations and Total Rewards teams.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.

Strategic

  • Own Cynosure’s remuneration philosophy that will guide all programs and their implementation
  • Set up cadence of regular reviews of competitiveness in all markets to inform development of compensation key programs. Identify trends, make recommendations, and ensure legal compliance.
  • Partner with CHRO to prepare quarterly analysis/documents/presentations needed for the HR portion of Board Reviews with CD&R.
  • Advise on possible technical implementation solutions (HRIS) for the future
  • Develop, implement, and guide global total reward program, policies, and procedures
  • Develop and maintain HR Analytics model, methodology and benchmarking program
  • Lead the HRIS roadmap to optimize HR technology
  • Develop methodology to analyze and evaluate key/critical talent total compensation
  • Maintain and enhance the multi-year benefit strategy

Operational

  • Act as an internal consultant on compensation and benefit to HR business partners
  • Create and maintain organizational tools for managers and employees including compensation ranges, decision making tools, models and analysis tools
  • Oversee compensation planning activities providing guidance, tools and oversight of the process. Reviews results for best practices, accuracy, and thoroughness
  • Oversee administration of benefit programs (inhouse and 3rd parties)
  • Maintain compliance with all benefits legislation, implementing new processes and procedures.
  • Devise education and communication tools to ensure leaders and managers are informed and equipped to use any program/tool effectively
  • Create ad hoc reports and data analysis
  • Recommend and oversee HRIS configuration and participate in module testing
  • Generate, review and/or approve total reward invoices
  • Lead the benefits open enrollment process including timeline, communication, and vendor alignment
  • Administer the 401(k) plan
  • Conduct the annual 401(k) audit with external auditor and submit 5500
  • Lead the quarterly Compensation Committee meetings
  • Approve new hire offers to ensure that they meet legal, company and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct semi-annual pay equity analysis
  • Lead annual compensation planning program including Country merit pools, salary ranges, and bonus payouts
  • Administer the global equity program
  • Facilitate meeting cadence will all benefit providers
  • Oversee the global payroll processes
  • Oversee North American day-to-day payroll and tax processing
  • Audit and approve bi-weekly and monthly payrolls
  • Develop, maintain, and present on Total Reward HR metric reporting including global benefit costs, headcount, and compensation trends
  • Market price and classify new and/or revised positions into the compensation architecture
  • Collaborate with Finance partner to plan and manage HR budget
  • Distribute and post ERISA/IRS compliance notices
  • Maintain content on internal and external total reward sites
  • Oversee global benefit administration

People & Leadership

  • Drive improvements and change to our global Compensation practices.
  • Lead the Global HR Operations and Total Rewards teams
  • Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders in Legal, Finance and Human Resources to ensure benefit programs and processes are compliant, cost effective and operationally efficient.
  • Lead C&B learning journey and coach CLT members as appropriate
  • Role model and educate HR team on global C&B thinking and frameworks
  • Develop and manage effective working relationships with C&B program vendors and advisors to support effective governance and administration, including vendor payment and reconciliation processes.
  • Monitor and ensure both compliance with and documentation of compliance with Cynosure’s policies and procedures as outlined in various Company policies, including the Global Approval Authority Matrix and other mandatory policies.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree required

Specific Area of Study: Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred
