BASIC PURPOSE:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing analytical, reporting, and project management support to the Manager, Director and Sr. Vice President. This individual will prepare presentations for executive management, analyze business segments and prepare analytical tools and reports to monitor financial performance, as well as partner with the Operations, Sales, Accounting, and IT teams on strategic initiatives while actively engaging in monthly variance analysis and participating in the Company’s annual budgeting process.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

•Coordinate day to day operational finance tasks for a specific line of business

•Use existing SQL queries to obtain customer data

•Accuracy in producing and cross-checking reports and presentations

•Serve as supporting liaison between internal departments and finance for relevant line of business

•Support in creating and presenting monthly forecast along with variance explanations

•Produce monthly executive presentation to highlight monthly, quarterly, YTD results compared to budget guidance, and prior year

•Create monthly commentary explaining variances to prior months, prior year, budget, and guidance

•Support annual budgeting season

•Adjust and help create models as needed to evaluate impact of pricing decisions

•Participate in strategic assignments targeted at improving overall profitability of the company by providing analytical tools and reports to support decision making

•Develop models to evaluate financial impact of corporate projects and initiatives

•Develop and report weekly metrics and KPIs

•Partner with operations, sales, accounting IT on strategic initiatives

•All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or Accounting required. Master’s degree preferred.

•Basic knowledge of SQL

•Strong analytical skills

•Superior technical skills with all Microsoft suite applications with advanced knowledge and experience in Excel

•Experience with Microsoft Great Plains preferred

•Knowledge and understanding of forecasting and budgeting models

•2+ years of experience working in FP&A teams in a publicly traded company

•Understanding of accrual accounting and financial reporting systems

•Experience in designing and building data mining models and multi-dimensional reports

•Experience in developing financial commentaries to explain variances, and developing financial and operational presentations to executives
