Shipping / Receiving Supervisor
SUMMARY: The Shipping/Receiving Supervisor oversees and supervises shipping and receiving employees to make sure all items are prepared, shipped and received on time while complying with Company policy. Liaison between employees and manufacturing department supervisors, OTR drivers and couriers. Manage shipping notices, orders, invoices and other documents to manage priorities and ensure correct shipping methods are used. Supervisor also ensures all shipping records are accurate. Responsible for inventory reconciliation for finished goods as well as Shipping/Receiving area safety compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following;
- Task assignments as they pertain to packaging, receiving, part kitting, filling hardware orders, inventory management, etc.
- Safety inspections, documentation, etc.
- Staff development and training
- Prepare and process all domestic and international shipments
- Manage completion of and maintain inventory of FG (partially completed stock orders within ERP system)
- Provide CS & Purchasing departments with freight estimates
- Communicate daily and weekly inbound deliveries and outbound shipments
- Oversee periodic cycle counts of FG inventory items (ampoules, clamps, gaskets, etc.)
- Manage procurement of packaging consumables (identify needs and submit purchase requisitions)
- Manage weekly staffing schedules
- Management of Shipping and Receiving personnel including disciplinary action when necessary
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct supervision of 2-3 person packaging employees and Receiving staff (one shift).

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of an Associate’s Degree or comparable work experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply mathematical skills and analyze performance trends in data; Demonstrated experience applying structured problem-solving and decision-making tools and methods.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies and provide solutions; Ability to identify problems, collect information, establish facts, and suggest solutions; Ability to develop and support conclusions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Significant time will be spent in manufacturing with key employees, exploring improvement opportunities to the overall quality and process aspects of the business. Frequent communication (verbal and listening), standing and reaching is required. Vision abilities required by this job include close-up reading and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics include periodic noise increases, although for the most part the environment is usually quiet. Safety glasses and other required protection should be worn when out in the shop area.
