SUMMARY STATEMENT/POSITION OVERVIEW

Manages the Ford Planners and has responsibility to ensure all parts ship on time to the customer.   Oversees purchasing of materials, work orders, and coordinates the resolution of all issues that would prevent an on-time shipment.  This position will be the primary contact between Materials at HLG, and FCSD Customer Parts Operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Day-to-day managing of the Ford Planner Position including:
  • Procurement of components for service kits
  • Resolving Purchase Order/Release Issues
  • Ensuring Aging Purchase Orders have adequate disposition
  • Oversee component material expedites
  • Resolving issues involving less than contractual lead-time with suppliers and obtainment      agreement on shipment dates
  • Assists the Planner in negotiating lead times with suppliers if required
  • Oversees the Ford Material Planners to ensure desk and system files containing accurate kit    related information are maintained
  • Primary interface for the Ford Supply Chain and Purchasing Activity with regards to kits
  • Coordinates resolution of purchasing, engineering, quality, lead time and other Purchase Order related issues with Planners, suppliers, internal HLM departments and appropriate Ford personnel as required, through meetings and conference calls
  • Assists with special projects or customer requirements relating to material planning and purchasing.
  • Oversees the Prime Pricing Sheet, Lead Time Sheet, Past Due Report, SREAs, NPO’s, and Ford SDPR rating and disputes
  • Work with Inventory Control for better inventory management and inventory documentation
  • Approves movement of kits between Q9XYL and Q9XYG
  • Ford Q9XYG Material Planners will report to this position
  • Continue to handle a smaller Ford deck to ensure day-to-day capabilities are maintained
  • Perform other duties as required

 

SPECIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE OR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or equivalent experience
  • Detail oriented
  • 2 years of prior purchasing, materials planning, or inventory control experience, preferred
  • 2 years of prior experience expediting materials to meet established schedules or experience where good follow-up skills are utilized, preferred
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience, preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of basic purchasing principles
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
