As an Employee Relations Manager you will be responsible for facilitating employee relations and resolving human resource issues on behalf of CardWorks. As part of our Human Resource team, you will deal with everything related to employee and management relations, and work to help employees and management work together cohesively. This includes but is not limited to corrective actions, terminations, complaints, and investigations. In addition, the Employee Relations Manager will communicate processes and policies that fosters a positive employee experience consistent with the CardWorks Guiding Principles and C.R.I.T.I.C.A.L. values.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Adheres to the Employee Relations infrastructure, including all processes, tools, policies and procedures.
  • Assists department leaders in defining needs and goals in areas related to retention, and performance management.
  • Assists department leaders with corrective actions and terminations.
  • Resolves workplace conflict and conducts investigations when required.
  • Conducts highly sensitive and complex investigations on a broad range of employment matters.
  • Conducts Exit Interviews and coordinates the employee off boarding process.
  • Ensures the organizations' approach to its employees is fair, respectful and consistent.
  • Advises managers on organizational policy matters, such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommends changes.
  • Gathers, analyzes and interprets data and metrics to develop recommendations and strategies to facilitate positive employee relations.
  • Identifies risks and challenges to employee relationships.
  • Keeps abreast of developments in the Human Resource industry, state and federal regulation, systems and procedures.
  • Monitors, reviews and recommends courses of actions involving federal legislation or agency rulings on matters directly and indirectly related to Employee Relations
  • Partner with Employee Relations management, HRBP’s, and Policy and Controls team members to gather insights and integrate data-driven strategies.
  • Answers questions and assists associates with issues regarding company policies and procedures.
  • Provides advice and counsel to management regarding personnel practices, policy and employment law.
  • Provides support and direction for direct reports.
  • Appropriately completes all directives issued by Sr. Management and apprises them of departmental information via frequent periodic reports and informal discussions.
  • Interacts with staff in a manner which shows tact, stability and concern for staff welfare. 
  • Commands respect from staff through the establishment of upward and downward communication channels. 
  • Completes performance evaluations and administers corrective action/counseling as necessary.
  • Handles employment verifications, court and other agency paperwork.
  • Provides support in other functional areas of the HR department, as needed.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or related field required.
  • Five years of professional human resource administration, including two years in Employee Relations preferred OR its equivalent through training, education, and other experience.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
