As an Analyst II at Merrick Bank, you will support growth and profitability in the credit card P&L through innovation in product, pricing, and credit policy. You will work with teams across Risk, Finance, and Legal/Compliance to drive top line revenue growth, account acquisition growth, and strong bottom line performance. As Merrick Bank sets its sights on ambitious growth targets, you will be a key contributor in the credit card business, helping shape both the strategy and profitability of the business in 2024 and beyond.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Develops and implements analytical frameworks to monitor and evaluate account acquisition programs performance.
  • Develops subject matter expertise in account acquisition strategy and P&L valuation.
  • Identify optimization opportunities, design tests and make strategic recommendations for future improvement.
  • Owns existing reporting, analysis and dashboard, and creates new reporting as necessary.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders across multiple organizations and departments to develop and maintain a rigorous test, learn and growth mechanisms.
  • Presents results of analysis and proposals for improvements to strategies to senior management.
  • Compliance with Laws & Regulations: 
  • Responsible for complying with all of the Bank’s internal control policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with all laws and regulations to which the Bank is subject.
  • Responsible for communicating problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, noncompliance with laws and regulations, violations, or illegal acts.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences or other quantitative discipline with three (3) years analytics experience is required; or

 

  • Masters’ Degree in  Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences or other quantitative discipline with one (1) of analytics experience is required.

 

Summary of Qualifications:

  • Comfortable leveraging data analysis tools and working hands-on with large analytical datasets to deliver insights
  • Requires a firm background and experience in data analytics, machine learning, and advanced programming (such as Python, R, or SAS/SQL)
  • Additional required skills and experience: organizational skills, effective communication/presentation skills (both verbal and written), and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to learn rapidly and solve problems dynamically
