Job Title: Café Prep Cook

Job Purpose:  

Assist head cook in preparation and service of food as well as assist cook with basic recipes. Prepares portions of ingredients for workstations while also following all applicable guidelines and regulations for food handling safety.

Operational:

• Make, prepare, and serve food according to café recipes.
• Assist with executing daily menu in accordance with recipe guidelines.
• Assist Manager with up-to-date information regarding standards for food preparation and presentation.
• Showing attention to detail in maintaining standards for food preparation, presentation with Manager’s approval.
• Check in all incoming orders for accuracy and quality. inform Manager of discrepancies
• Maintain ServSafe procedures and practice in food prep, holding, serving and storage.
• Responsible for ensuring kitchen, counter and all prep areas are cleaned and sanitized daily assuring that the members are certain that we care about their wellbeing.
• In conjunction with the Café Manager, ensure all café counter staff are properly informed of policy changes, additions, and proper procedures.
• Follow procedure for rotating menu, to ensure proper counts, portioning and preparation is accurate.
• Responsible for keeping kitchen equipment in working order.

Communication:

• Remain in constant communication with the manager to inform them of recipe discrepancies.
• Attend monthly department staff meetings and training.
• Be knowledgeable of other club departments, programs and events demonstrating a commitment to embracing the neighborhood.
• Be punctual for all scheduled shifts or arrange for coverage and inform the Manager accordingly.

Professional and Technical Knowledge

• Ongoing Club Fit Trainings both in person and in 1huddle
  • Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, Blood Borne Pathogens, Emergency Response Protocol, and Importance of Cyber Security

Professional Certification

• • Certified ServSafe Food Handler

• Education and Experience 
  • 1-2 years in Culinary Experience preferred but not required.
  • High School Diploma

Teamwork

• Understand and have knowledge of the duties for the cashier, runner, and pantry stations (use posted station duties)
• Professional attitude toward work, club, members, co-workers, and staff at all times by providing genuine hospitality.
• Report to work in full uniform including black staff shirt, solid black pants, nametag, and apron.

Job Requirements

• Stand and walk around for extended periods of time.
• Ability Lift 15 lbs.

Reporting Structure: Report to Café Manager

Pay Range:

$18.00-$20.00/per hour
