Jail Nurses I, II or III (DOQ/DOE)
Seeking two full time jail nurses (level I, II, or III) to provide professional nursing and routine medical services to adults in custody in the Clatsop County jail according to established nursing practices and procedures. Qualification for I, II, or III based on licensure and years of experience. Job descriptions available online.
Requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a diploma or from an accredited two-year college with an Associate’s degree in nursing, OR graduation from an accredited four-year college or university school of nursing with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Must have a valid license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Oregon. Nurse II requires two (2) years’, Nurse III requires RN license and four (4) years’ experience in a clinical, hospital, health care or public health facility/office. Must possess and maintain driving privileges in the State of Oregon.
Requires knowledge of public health nursing principles and practices and excellent communication skills. Ability to use independent judgment and to work well with corrections staff, understand and carry out technical instructions regarding patient care and deal professionally and respectfully with patients. Must have ability to ensure strict confidentiality of information. Must possess and maintain driving privileges in the State of Oregon.
