ABOUT CLATSOP COUNTY                      

Today Clatsop County is one of nine Home Rule counties in Oregon. Five non-partisan elected Commissioners set policy and appoint a full-time County Manager, who is responsible for daily operations. County services are provided through nine divisions: County Administration (County Manager), Assessment and Taxation, Budget and Finance, County Clerk, Community Development, Juvenile, Public Health, Public Works, the District Attorney, and Sheriff’s Offices. The county also administers a road district, a rural law enforcement district, and a local sewer district. 

THE POSITION                                       

As Electrical Inspector, you will enforce the National Electrical Code the applicable state code through inspection of various types of buildings; communicate code requirements to the public, contractors and local officials; investigate cases of non-compliance and report appropriately.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS                  

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus additional specialized training. Possess and maintain driving privileges in the State of Oregon. Must possess State of Oregon "A" Level Electrical Inspector Certificate and State of Oregon One- and Two-Family Dwelling Electrical Inspector Certificate. Must also possess State General Supervisor’s Electrician License.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS                     

Four-year degree in Electrical Engineering desired.  

Additional Certifications: Oregon Inspector Certification, Residential Structural Inspector, Residential Plumbing Inspector, Residential Plans Examiner, or a combination of any other Oregon Code Certifications and/or ICC Certifications.

Per the Pay Equity Law passed in 2017, a pay equity analysis will be conducted to determine what pay step the successful candidate will be offered.  The analysis will be based on the relevant experience, education, training, and certifications documented in the application materials.
