THE BRASS TACKS
- Responsible for selling tickets to the Smith Tower Attraction & Retail items in the Smith Tower Attractions Entrance.
- Assists with Seating Reservations systems for the Observatory, Guest Control for Ticketed events, and General Attraction's duties.
- Welcomes guests within the Attraction, provides instructions for processing payments to guests, provides guidance to the tour capabilities at Smith Tower.
- Ensures guests are given the spiel of Smith Tower, of its history & what they will be experiencing on their trip on site whether at Entrance or in Elevator.
- Ensures entryway and exhibits are clean and up to date during daily shift.
- Maintain warm and professional attitude at all times to ensure exceptional guest experience in the Smith Tower Attractions Entrance and Elevators are top notch.
- Fulfills opening and closing duties for the Attraction Entrance, Exhibit, & Elevators that can include but not limited to: Restocking, Inventory of Exhibits, Opening Awnings, Sweeping & Mopping, Refiling Water for Guest Perks etc.
- Balancing of registers and knowledge and accuracy of closing procedures for registers.
- Knowledge of inventory received and back stock for Merchandise; Upkeep of all floor merchandising and displays; assist with receiving, tagging and transporting of new merchandise.
- Assuring neatness and cleanliness of store, point of sale station and storage areas.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of all back areas, including shared team member spaces.
- Provide communication with other team players and with supervisor on guest flow management and other requests.
- Anticipating guest flow needs and assist the Supervisor with daily guest flow adjustments.
- Participate in using positive suggestive selling techniques.
- Participate in a team environment, offering suggestions & workflow aid to Supervisor on site.
- Assists with partial or full (break coverage) shifts for all Attractions positions.
- All Other Duties as Assigned.
THE NITTY GRITTY
- Previous experience in a hospitality environment strongly preferred.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to stand up and down for more than (3) hours at a time.
- The ability to de-escalate and handle loud operations at a fast pace.
- The ability to clearly & effectively communicate independently.
- Must maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules including any required overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to lift (25+) pounds.
- Basic math skills required for accurate currency handling
