THE BRASS TACKS
- Work with pastry chef to maintain all aspects of the pastry department for the property
- Ability to recreate established recipes to set standards and ensure that all other team members are upholding to standards set by the pastry chef
- Maintain cleanliness of the bakeshop and oversee its cleaning on a day-to-day basis
- Ability to work each pastry shift required for day-to-day function and step in where and when needed
- Ability to multitask, have strong leadership qualities and strong technical pastry skills
- Ability to read Banquet Event Reports and run banquet events
- Must have some knowledge of basic cake decorating Qualifications, Education, and/or Experience:
- Cake decorating knowledge
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Strong organization skills
- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
THE NITTY GRITTY
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience
- Necessary State Food Handler’s License(s)
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to other employees of the organization
- Must possess knife skills, the ability to adjust preparations for flavor, and accommodate customer’s needs in a timely manner
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and walk throughout the shift
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs at shoulder height.
- Must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 75 lbs
- Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, overhead reaching, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently; and squeezing occasionally
