- Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Family Studies, Psychology, Social Work, or Health Education OR
- Associate's Degree/ Two years of College + Two (2) years of related work experience OR four (4) years of related work experience.
- Must have experience working with families, setting goals, and achieving outcomes.
- Must have experience putting together outreach materials and must have experience giving presentations and/or trainings.
- Must be bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.

- Required education and experience plus one year of work experience presenting or training to a group of 15 or more individuals.
- Experience using advanced Zoom capabilities, such as breakout rooms and annotations.
- Train CAPSLO staff and outside agency staff on the “Your Money, Your Goals” toolkit.
- Provide mentoring support to CAPSLO staff in implementing the “Your Money, Your Goals” toolkit.
- Provide financial education workshops to the community, designed to increase financial knowledge and empower families to manage their finances.
- Case manage families by providing one-on-one financial education services based on the family’s needs.
- Be proficient on the “Your Money, Your Goals” financial empowerment toolkit.
- Carry a low-case load and work with families in-person (at the location of their choice) to assess their current situation; set goals; provide the “Your Money, Your Goals” tools; and follow-up regarding their progress.
- Follow all procedures and utilize all programmatic forms as provided by the Department Manager. Must keep good client case notes and records.
- Collect all required data (demographic intake, assessment, and various survey data) and assist with data entry as requested.
- Coordinate all referrals within the Family and Community Support Services Department.
- Provide various quarterly trainings to Department staff and other agency staff (as needed) on the “Your Money, Your Goals” toolkit.
- Develop and update training materials as needed.
- Work with staff to ensure the toolkit is used properly, and assist staff in overcoming any barriers. Hold regular one-on-one meetings and/or group meetings to answer questions and check-in on progress using the curriculum.
- Create presentations and forms that are needed in helping families understand the material and be successful in their goals.
- Create flyers for presentations and outreach internally and externally to encourage participation.
- Provide Financial Education workshop series on a quarterly basis to the public.
- Attend regular meetings as requested by the Division Manager.
- Attend Department staff meetings and relevant trainings as requested by the Department Manager.
- Attend outreach events to promote the program, as requested by the Department Manager.
- Keep informed of community agencies, resources, workshops, and classes.
- Must work collaboratively with the Child, Youth, and Family Services Financial Resource Specialist to provide trainings.
- Must be dedicated to the goals and philosophy of the Child, Youth, and Family Services Division child development programs and CAPSLO.
- Must use reasonable precautions in the performance of one’s duties and adhere to all applicable safety rules and practices; and act in such a manner as to assure at all times maximum safety to one’s self, fellow employees, clients and children.
- Must follow all required child abuse reporting requirements.
- Performs other duties as needed.
- Must have demonstrated knowledge of local community resources
- Must be computer literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and/or Canva, and data tracking programs.
- Must be bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have the ability to coordinate and communicate with clients/parents and staff.
- Must have demonstrated organizational skills in former positions.
- Must have strong presentation skills, being able to clearly and concisely present information to staff and the public.
- Must have the ability to relate well and establish rapport with clients/parents and staff.
- Must be able to work cooperatively with staff and community agencies.
- Must have the demonstrated ability to motivate and problem solve in former positions.
- Must have the ability to show warmth and appreciation of human growth at all levels and understand the process of gaining trust and credibility with any population.

- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and with minimal supervision.

- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and/or weekends, as needed to meet the needs of the families we serve.
- Position requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, twisting, and bending.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
- Simple grasping and hand manipulation required, as well as reaching above and below shoulder level.
- Must have dependable, insured transportation, and a valid California Driver License (mileage to be reimbursed) and acceptable driving record. A DMV printout and proof of insurance will be required.
- Upon hire, must become certified as a mandated reporter.
- Upon hire, must complete the “Your Money, Your Goals” training provided by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
- Must be at least 18 years of age by date of hire.
- Must comply with the CAPSLO COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, either being fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption.
- Based on program, a current TB skin test/Chest X-Ray may be required.
- Employment is contingent upon meeting all applicable job requirements and background requirements. A criminal history clearance is required prior to employment.
- Upon hire, agency staff will check the Megan’s Law (or the current sexual predator website) to ensure each staff being hired is clear for employment. Agency staff will check the website annually to ensure all program staff are cleared to work.

Compensation and Benefits Package
Medical, Dental, Vision, Flexible Spending Plan
CAPSLO offers benefits through a group medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account, life and AD&D insurance program. CAPSLO pays the full amount (100%) of the premiums to cover full-time employees, and half (50%) of the premiums to cover eligible part-time employees. Eligible employees may elect, at their own cost, to have medical, dental and vision insurance coverage for their dependents. Additionally, CAPSLO offers a Long Term Disability ("LTD") insurance program for eligible employees.
Retirement Savings Plan
CAPSLO offers eligible employees the opportunity to contribute a portion of their earnings to a Section 403(b) Retirement Plan. Employees are 100% vested upon enrollment into the plan. CAPSLO matches 60% of every dollar contributed up to an annual maximum of 15% of your annual salary (not to exceed IRS limits) after 6 months of employment.
Holidays
Twelve paid holidays during the course of the each calendar year. Employees also receive one extra workday off with pay as a "Personal Holiday."
Vacation/Sick Leave
CAPSLO awards 80-160 hours of vacation annually with a maximum accrual of 320 hours, depending on years of service. Paid Sick time is accrued at 8 hours per month (based on weekly hours) with a maximum accrual of 280 hours. CAPSLO also offers the opportunity to convert unused sick time to vacation and a vacation cash out for eligible employees once a year.
