We are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager for our Houston, TX office. 

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

 

The Senior Project Manager will scope, estimate, lead, direct or manage every phase of various size gas pipeline projects to assure safe on-schedule completion. In this capacity, the PM must be capable of managing projects ranging in value from $20 million to $100 million.

 

This person will be responsible for the management of small and large diameter pipeline projects of varying length and complexity.  This person will be responsible for coordinating the pipeline project(s) with associated compressor and meter station projects. Duties will include preparation of project execution plans, risk matrices, leading a project team with oversite of material procurement, right of way acquisition, permit acquisition, regulatory approvals, construction management and project completion documents.  He or she will be directly responsible for scoping, estimating, engineering, survey and design.  This person will be responsible for contract composition as well as the overall budget forecast and schedule.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • 15 years minimum directly related experience in design and project management in a pipeline engineering related field which may include cross country pipeline design and construction, compressor stations, and meter stations. 
  • Intimate knowledge of the FERC Plan and Procedures
  • Basic skill level in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio or similar intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel or similar
  • Well organized with a high degree of initiative and motivation
  • Ability to work positively and effectively prioritize in a fast pace environment
  • Executed multiple FERC 7(c) pipeline projects as the project manager
  • Executed pipeline projects using EPC or EPCM approach
  • Experience with managing budgets and projects in excess of $100 MM
  • Sound technical capabilities to be used to review and challenge engineering deliverables
  • Strong technical writing capabilities required to draft engineering, construction and land contracts.
  • Thorough understanding of the design requirements for pipelines and the applicable ASME B31.8 and 49 CFR Part 192 codes as well as other applicable pipeline codes and permit requirements. 
  • Able to communicate well, both verbal and written, with team members, clients permitting agency personnel, landowners and contractors.
  • Capable of speaking to the public on behalf of the company
  • Able to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

 

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Experience as a project manager within an operating company or as owner’s representative 
  • Experience supporting PHMSA audits and inspections
  • Project experience should include pipelines in excess of 30” diameter and/or over 100 miles in length
  • Licensed professional engineer and/or MBA is desirable for this position

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

 

  • Civil/Mechanical Engineering, MBA, PE
