We are currently looking for an Associate Field Technician/ Field Technician/ Sr. Field Technician for our Tallulah, LA office.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

 

This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all pipeline facilities in and around the Tallulah area. The successful candidate will be required to comply with all Company, DOT, OSHA, and Environmental rules and regulations. They will be responsible for learning and functioning within our Company OMS process for documenting job functions as required. Occasionally required to perform unscheduled or emergency work. Position will be required to learn all Pipeline ROW Routes and learn to handle all encroachment activities as well as perform in a lead role and direct the actions of others when fully qualified. Position will be required to learn to operate compressor stations, Individual will need to be self-motivated and work with limited supervision and when qualified, participate in the On-Call duties for Pipeline emergencies and call outs to Tallulah and Delhi Compressor stations.

Normal work hours for this position are 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM EST Monday – Friday, however this position is subject to occasional schedule adjustments as needed. The successful candidate for this position will be required to live within 30 miles of Tallulah compressor station.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Individual must have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel, as well as strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills and a strong ability for prioritizing and scheduling multiple projects. This individual should also have experience with Microsoft programs as well as the ability to read, comprehend, and follow Company procedures and manufacturers guidelines.
  • Physical requirements of the role include the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet to transfer tools and equipment, the ability to operate valve control wheels with a minimum of 50 turns, and the ability to work alone as required in extreme weather conditions including hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments.
  • Valid Driver’s license, good driving record is required and the ability to operate an all-terrain vehicle.
  • Must have a strong commitment to personal and Team safety.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • A minimum of one year of high pressure gas pipeline operations experience
  • Familiarity with DOT (PHMSA) pipeline regulations
  • Experience with manual pneumatic operated pipeline valves
  • Experience and training with hazardous material emergencies
  • Experience with maintenance on pipeline equipment: valves, pipe coating, heaters, separators and cathodic protection
  • Valid LA Class D Chauffeurs or CDL driver’s license
  • Project planning experience

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

 

  • High School Diploma

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION: 

 

  • Technical School or College
