EIS is seeking a Biomedical Research Laboratory Manager

 

Mandatory Qualifications: The Biomedical Research Laboratory Manager is a pivotal role that requires a combination of scientific expertise, leadership skills, and organizational abilities to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the laboratory.

 

        • The contractor employee shall possess a minimum master’s degree in a STEM field with a minimum three (3) years’ demonstrated experience in research/translational lab.
        • The contractor employee shall possess at least one (1) year demonstrated experience with large animal research models (swine).
        • The contractor employee shall possess demonstrated expertise with ordering, procuring, and maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies.
        • The contractor employee shall possess minimum one (1) year demonstrated experience developing and executing research protocols.
        • The contractor employee shall possess demonstrated experience following industry standards and safety regulations for handling samples.
        • The contractor employee shall possess the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business inquiries, including technical RFQ/RFP.
        • The contractor employee shall possess the ability to work with veterinary staff to set up and prepare experiments.
        • The contractor employee shall posses demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to track and manage inventory.
        • The contractor employee shall demonstrate the following work characteristics: ability to work independently; attention to detail; extensive organizational skills; initiative, ability, and drive to solve practical problems; excellent multitasking skills; ability to professionally interact with all levels of personnel.
        • The contractor employee shall demonstrate expertise on Microsoft Office programs and laboratory management software such as lab chart.
        • The contractor employee shall have a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) in place with their company based on the potential access to confidential, proprietary, and/or sensitive information. NDA shall be provided to the Government Program Manager by start of performance.

Tasks

 

Laboratory Operations Management: Contractor employee shall assist in the following tasks.

      Coordinate and manage day-to-day laboratory activities.

      Ensure compliance with safety protocols, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

      Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment.

      Implement new programs, tests, methods, and instrumentation.

      Manage lab personnel daily duties, including training and performance management.

      Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

      Schedule and assign employees based on lab operational needs.

Research Project Coordination: Contractor employee shall assist in the following tasks.

      Oversee the planning, initiation, and execution of research projects.

      Monitor progress and ensure adherence to timelines.

      Collaborate with principal investigators and other stakeholders.

      Maintains medical laboratory productivity by monitoring the workload of functional areas.

Budget Management: Contractor employee shall assist in the following tasks.

      Develop and manage the laboratory budget.

      Allocate resources efficiently and seek cost-saving opportunities.

Quality Control and Assurance: Contractor employee shall assist in the following tasks.

    Achieves quality results by participating in the hospital quality assurance program.

      Implement and maintain quality control measures for experiments and data collection.

      Ensure compliance with good laboratory practices (GLP) and other relevant standards.

      Adheres to specimen preparation procedures.

Equipment Maintenance: Contractor employee shall assist in the following tasks.

      Establishes quality standards to maintain medical laboratory equipment performance.

      Coordinate the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.

      Troubleshoot equipment issues and arrange for repairs or replacements as needed.

Data Management: Contractor employee shall assist in the following tasks.

      Implement data management systems and protocols.

      Identifies informational needs to manage medical laboratory information systems.

      Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with privacy regulations.

Collaboration and Communication: Contractor employee shall assist in the following tasks.

      Facilitate communication among laboratory members and with external collaborators.

      Foster a culture of open communication and collaboration.

Grant and Proposal Support: Contractor employee shall assist in the following tasks.

      Prepare grant applications and research proposals.

      Track and manage grant funds and expenditures.

Professional Development: Contractor employee shall assist in the following tasks.

      Stay informed about advancements in the field and emerging technologies.

      Support the professional development of laboratory staff.

      Complies with state and professional continuing education licensure requirements.

Environmental Health and Safety: Contract employee shall assist in the following tasks.

      Promote and enforce adherence to safety protocols and procedures.

      Coordinate with environmental health and safety officers to ensure compliance.

Documentation and Reporting: Contractor employee shall assist in the following tasks.

      Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of laboratory activities.

      Prepare regular reports for senior management or funding agencies.
